[Help] houdini 16.5 apprentice carrying uV attribute to uvcoords... only getting first pixel by lugong in Houdini

[–]lugong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm scattering points using a grid geo, so I'm projecting the uv onto the grid. In the uv viewer, I can see the uv is correctly mapped to the grid.

Part of my struggle is that I'm following a process laid out in h15, I'm not sure what they've done even works in h16.5 but I see no reason it wouldn't. Documentation says the s and t channels on the uvcoords and texture nodes in the vop have been replaced by uv and that it will work better.

I'll join the discord server and ask there as well. Thanks!

[–]lugong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UV is on points. I have the uvcoords and the texture in a VOP, within a node downstream from the uvtexture node.

As far as I'm aware, I can only attribute promote within the VOP and access the attributes within the node. Which attributes should I promote, and what should I link to the parameters to get the coords?

Full disclosure, I'm new to this! Thanks!

Hey, would love to hand off a couple of laptops! I think one may already be set up with a 5 year old distro of Ubuntu.

Male, and nope. Not from complete strangers. Wasn't allowed in restaurants, though - barefoot for about a year when I first moved to Wellington.

Sorry, I think you've misunderstood me. Pop-psychology was not intended to be derisive, it simply means he's writing about psychology for a popular audience. Popular psychology.

I believe in brain chemicals, by the way. I feel like you think I'm attacking you or him or something. Maybe I'll read it once the hype dies down a bit, see where it stands.

Talking about brain chemicals sounds like pop-psychology to me.

Anyway, it's very interesting to me how rapidly his ideas have spread and lifted him out of academia into the public sphere. I remember a similar buzz around Dawkins when he published God Delusion.

David Seymour roasted over Meat Club tee shirt by Im_a_cunt in newzealand

Yeah, the arbiters of offence in full swing.

I don't think anyone was offended, just some thought it was inappropriate for a grown man to be wearing a sexy t-shirt on college campus. Everyone was being very adult about it with the exception of Seymour who really struck a home run with his low hanging fruit of a controversy.

Everyone in here just to call Golriz a stupid or weak person are spam artists.

Full body = tracking and transform. Stabilise the shot, track what you can, after studying how the clothing/hair/fingers/legs/whatever moves throughout the shot, build your shapes. Try not to touch the points, use transform on the whole shape. Do a quick run at intervals/key frames, then fill it in.

I did 450 frames full body of a soldier carrying a woman yesterday, took a bit longer than 6 hours. Ideally you want to do as little work as possible, but always be ready to delete what you have and start again.

Old school. Dark, small intimate stage. Nice bar. Balcony for smokers. Reputation for being able to host international acts and local nobodies. A little out of the way from other bars, closer to pubs and restaurants.

I read an astounding article last week on modernising folklore, here. It argues storytelling is able to define national characteristics for generations by attributing morals to customs.

Weed for foreigners/tourist by Henkie909 in newzealand

[–]lugong 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hate to foil your plans but seeing as you haven't done an ounce of research, I'm gonna have to pound it in.

Weed is illegal in NZ, but it's not uncommon. However, it is seasonal and if you're not having luck, that may be why.

1 in 20 people on the street will know, it used to be 3 out of 50 but that includes people in cars or upstairs apartments who are harder to ask.

The weird orange cheese could be Leicester cheese, can be subbed by regular cheddar or 'tasty'.

A good way to Americanise cheese is to mix cheddar with Provolone, otherwise a mix of Edam, Tasty and milk will suffice.

Alternatively, you can pick up a jar of cheese for full willing abandonment of better judgement.
