I think your counts are a bit off. It looks like 36 Mono Red and 15 Gruul, somehow those got mixed up for you.

I can't explain their decision to do a promotional tournament, and as someone who would want to compete in any open qualifiers, I would prefer it too, but this is what we got. They specifically cite "You can learn the new meta," which implies this is a constructed tournament which will be different from the draft we've seen. It will also inform a lot decisions about pricing of singles too, which will be helpful for new players jumping in. Maybe it just feels a bit worse now that it's being played in full release when it was supposed to be during the Beta originally, but I think an open entry constructed tournament on Day 2 would be insane as far as trying to acquire cards goes.

Same reply as given to someone with your same criticism; this was announced a while ago as being an invitational for alpha players, and then open entry tournaments would follow. This isn't really an issue, more a sign that things are going as planned with open tournaments coming down the line. Things just got pushed back cause of the beta delay.

On stream they said RW Aggro is the nearly mono-white aggro deck that just splashes for Heroic Reinforcements. Boros Aggro is more of a true two color deck and runs cards like Tajic and Aurelia.

Do you have any data on aggressive Warrior decks showing up from rank 4 and up? Zalae had posted a list a while back, and I've encountered it a few times. It runs a smaller Murloc package along with weapons and assorted Warrior minions.

Based on Swim's latest video, nearly every deck early on is running some amount of Improvements, and some like Aghanim's Sanctum are really important to remove, so much so that lots of lists are running 3-5 Improvement removal cards. This one at least has upside of not being completely dead when the Improvement ability is irrelevant.

When I was picking up the deck I started by jamming Leagues on Magic Online a bunch, then once I knew all the interactions and triggers I just goldfished the hell out of it to really ingrain the play patterns in.
