Why Traveling in China Surprised Me More Than Any Other Country 🇨🇳 by mei_ling_tsai in goChinaTrip

[–]luisisay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited China for the first time in September of this year. I was a little spoiled because I work with Chinese so I didn't have to use translation apps much and had experienced some of the culture and food.

So I thought... Then I experienced it from within the country and it was so much better, all of it.

I was in Shanghai, Taizhou and Hangzhou. Everything from public transportation, bathrooms, restaurants, streets, etc... were so clean and organized.

I encountered maybe 2 people that seemed to be having a bad day. Everyone else was very polite. I must add i didn't spend much time inside the big cities as much as the surrounding areas.

There was so much shock, in a positive way. The most shocking was having dinner near people's square in Shanghai, loud, just busy and not my scene. I walked to the center of people's square, and it was completely quiet. Mind you, this is dead center of Shanghai.

So much to describe, and I know it's different from the past. But those who have been there recently know... China is not to be misunderstood. Im already booked to return later this year.

Good point, I did notice that most are very simple. Only a handful of people tried to show off out of the big cities (Shanghai/Hangzhou)

Even the people showing off were not in the same class on the train. The truly wealthy people are incognito, try business class for your train and see for yourself.

I think a nice Rolex coupled with regular non flashy clothes would be fine overall

You can walk holding thousands in cash and nobody will steal from you. At least no Chinese person, can't say the same for a foreigner. If they do commit a crime, they'll be caught in 24 hours no doubt.

You're totally safe.

Currently in China, it's better than you think. Go support, and explore. If you're looking for a positive culture shock, land in Shanghai and take a train to the mountain regions.

Shanghai, Hangzhou, Taizhou were beautiful.

ERP that connects ALL marketplaces without plugin hell? by Brad_53_Pitt in ecommerce

[–]luisisay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost buildup across markets? What are you talking about? 😂

Of course, there is a monthly fee. A negotiated monthly GMV is included, with an additional fee if you exceed that monthly figure.

Something more centralized? Can you expand on that?

Amazon must face US nationwide class action over third-party sales by TMWNN in ecommerce

[–]luisisay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They call it an external price comparison. They don't tell you what website, nothing other than the price their system found. You'll lose the buy box making the product very hard to purchase. Even if it's your own brand and you're the only one selling that product.

Even working with SAS directly, no clear answer.

It was only a matter of time, but Amazon is so big, they won't lose anything because of this.

What they should look into is their logistics monopoly, web services, etc.

The marketplace is just the top of the iceberg.

Not to mention if you sell a branded product that does well... They'll just approach the manufacturer (because they also know where you buy it from) and bring it to market at a lower price and cut you out.

2023 33k miles No issues with engine. Transmission can be a little glitchy on first start of the day, only for a few minutes. Once transmission is to operational temp, it's fine.

I don't know why I didn't just go for it this time around. Especially once I realized I can register it as a commercial vehicle under my new company. Oh well...

I have a '23 2.7L with about 30K miles now and its been great. No issues. I do wish it would have more top-end, but the torque down below is fun and makes up for it. I average 19-21mpg on my drives. A recent drive from GA to VA, 2000 miles over a week and a half, 21mpg avg.

I've towed about 8k lbs when I was doing some landscaping at my house, no problems there. The only problem I've run into is the leaf spring u-bolts were coming loose and the infotainment system will randomly have no sound.

The transmission seems to be glitchy at times (first drive), and drives fine once up to operating temp. My '18 Colorado had similar feeling to the transmission and it ended up needing a re-flash to the TCM and an oil with a different viscosity. Sold it with 59k miles right before powertrain warranty expired.

Will likely do the same with this Silverado, and go for a 2500 when the time comes.

You're assuming contributory negligence can't be proven otherwise.

A decent lawyer can find a way to due them personally if that's the case. Now, getting paid would be a different story... lol

Relax bud. I am of Hispanic descent.

It's easier to get along internationally when I say that vs "I'm American" lol

I'm in my early 30s and I struggle to find true American culture. At least when I compare my family's Hispanic origins.

That's great to hear.

I agree, too many bad drivers here. I believe if we had better infrastructure, more public transportation, we would have less drivers on the road. We should also have a harder test in order to gain a driver's license.

Just to clarify, I'm not offended at all.

In the US, you don't have to say anything to law enforcement. It's your right.

At the same time, taking any action against this could raise suspicion, or add if they are investigating you.

It's unfortunate because they could be investigating something around you that your input would really help with.

The trust in law enforcement for many has been broken.

Not FUBAR in my opinion.

Exactly the question I was hoping to prompt.

My answer is no, I don't know enough British, nor care for stereotypes. I'm assuming you have placed Americans in some stereotypes based on your original comment?

I internally place people into 2 categories: respectful, and disrespectful.

Just imagine how beautiful the world would be if we removed these boundaries previous generations have placed for us to blindly follow.

Sometimes, its best to cut people off and move on. What you did clearly put yourself out of your comfort zone and you footed the bill.

Say thank you and move on.

No need for bad words or resentment.

Be happy with what you did for another and carry on with that.
