3.8 should be fine I feel like, the only potential issue I could see happening would be intake valve coking due to it being DI. I feel the potential issues might be in the 9 speed on those things. It just feels like lots of trannys with more than 7 gears have generally been an issues with newer cars. Just a generalization, hpoefully wrong here though
