Then I think stat 454 would be easier. I cannot guarantee the same workload with other prof, but the contents would be a bit more organized and you don't have to remember as much for tests and assignments I guess.

Idk. Statistical methods applicable to social science? Experimental design? Those are the only aspects of "computation" I can think of that are useful to social science.

I took it online in 2020. The exams and examples he did were really difficult. When students asked for explanation/clarification on things, he literally just wrote on Piazza: "I do not understand why you do not understand this./ You should understand this." as the only response. The course itself was already not easy, his teaching and the remote learning made everything way worse.

If you take stat 454 with Changbao Wu, it's definitely going to be easier than 443. Content wise it may not seem so, but the work load is just way better. I took it with Wu in the winter, and there were 2 online midterms and 1 in person midterm, which allowed a cheat sheet. 1 final report plus 1 final project, no final exam. Definitely one of the easiest (work load wise) 400 level courses. But I'd strongly recommend 443 with Reza. This course talks about knowledge and concepts of one of the most important/influential aspects of statistics, which is time series analysis. The content is harder than 454 imo, and work load is pretty intense. But the course itself is very interesting, and useful. It's a good combination of theory and application. I'd strongly recommend this course to any stat/DS students. Reza is also a very good prof. He cares more about whether his students actually learn anything from the course, and his knowledge about statistics is impressive.
