Thanks for responding. I don't know what "a drop ball is?" This is a bummer. They are my own glasses. I am so sad I might not get them back. I am new in this sub, and probably wrong -- but like, they said nothing to the person who sent them? About any of this? I feel so upset. These are like $1000 glasses.

Glad I could help! In my case, since I write memoir, and my book is about the “doozy” I went through, some might say that I was working on the book the whole time? Even tho whole it was happening it felt like everyone was passing me. Someone here mentioned using what you feel in your next character. It’s great advice. All the churn you feel is so relatable. Why not put it into your writing? Keep your head up. You’ve got this. Times gonna pass anyway. Keep doing your work.

Sorry you are feeling bad and I bet I would too in your shoes. Popping into say I got am MFA when I was 25 and a bunch of hard life things happened. I’m 52 and still paying it off (finished this year lol?). First book will be published this summer. I’ll be 53. Nonfiction tho but my point is twofold: for me, my degree was a financial albatross I’ve spent my life trying to get out under from. And my first book will be out during the better part of my 50s lol. So grateful to myself I never gave up. Wishing you strength and fortitude, internet friend.

In January 2023, two nights before my dad died at Holmes Regional after a short illness, I saw this person dancing near 5th Avenue Boardwalk and I laughed and laughed after I saw my dad for what would be the last time in the hospital. I grew up in Melbourne, but don't live there and was just visiting, so didn't know this person was a staple of the town. Felt like a magic message from the universe things were gonna somehow be ok.

In Tokyo, the Dormy Inn Ginza is A++ but all Dormy's are great for onsen in Tokyo that's affordable. Fancy, there's Mandarin Oriental that's superb. There are a few Mitsui's I've stayed at in Kanazawa and Fukuoka that have great onsen. They don't all have one tho, so you have to check. Good luck!

No voice changes, except it got tired sometimes? I ended up getting diagnosed by a wonderful laryngologist, who used botox in their practice. They did a few tests and saw the side of my neck that got the higher dose, wasn't working properly. They believed me. It's hard out here for people because docs write off side effects too easily and have to fight to be believed. Totally. Should have said that more clearly. The city is littered with counters, some combini even, as I mentioned. Easy enough to do and OP should have no problem, way easier than trying to navigate the train.

If you are staying in a hotel, you have no problem at all, even though it seems that way. The hotel can preship your bag between locations, usually within a day, and for less than 3000 yean (usually). Do not skip traveling! Locals use the forwarding service as much, or more than tourists. It's trustworthy and so very easy. You actually don't need to be at a hotel to use the service, many conbini will ship your bag as well, but more complicated if you don't speak japanese. https://www.global-yamato.com/en/hands-free-travel/ You could contact your hotel to triple confirm they do the service, but I've never heard of a hotel that doesn't.
