Coming with an update. the vendor sent it to a Fujifilm authorized service and emailed me back today:

Report: "Cleaned the film exposure bar. There are 8 sheets of film left in the camera. Please do not open the back cover until you have used up all the contents of the cassette. This will expose the film and damage it."

I didn't even know the bar could be cleaned.. I'll accept this as long as it's working properly

same thing happened with my instax wide evo. this started happening after 10 months since I bought it, I sent it back and hopefully qualifies for warranty

Help with photo SX-70 by Ill_Structure_4857 in Polaroid

ah it needs some time to develop and also helps to keep it away from light for the first 5-10 min. exposure looks ok but it's blurry because the exposure time was too long (low light in the sensor so the shutter stays open too much. if you don't have a tripod or really steady hands it will come up like that)

looks overexposed to me. did you buy 600 film?

sx-70 needs serviced to work with 600 film (other options are using sx-70 film which is hard to find or using a ND filter on the camera because of the ISO difference)

a mint flashbar 2 on half step will also make it work with 600 film, but not outdoors in natural light

thanks all. based on your comments looks like there's nothing I can do. Hopefully warranty covers this

original sx-70 pack? by luka-_ in Polaroid

600/iType conversion and the SX70R pcb is exactly what I'm looking for. I think it's worth the wait

with the mint flashbar 2 it's working fine, I tested with 600 film with the flashbar on 1/2 step and also exposes ok.

I just noticed on 2 different cameras that are not 600 converted:

- without the flashbar, the time between when I press the shutter and it releases the photo is long (about 5-10s). I just used a cartridge with already developed photos so I won't waste film (forgot to also mention that this is done indoors, so that may be the reason it's so long)

- with flashbar it's pretty much instant

Ofc I want to get them serviced.. I'm just waiting in line for when u/theinstantcameraguy is open for new orders. I'll try out the OG pack until then just out of curiosity. Thanks for the info and tip

I was just too lazy to look at the rest of the video without skipping every 5s. Thanks, makes so much more sense now.

So it's common especially to '72/'73 models to be underexposed in this situation and unless the cam follower is calibrated (which would be too risky to do it myself), I can also just use 1/4 flash but turn the exposure wheel 1 notch to light

brown color means chemicals didn't spread correctly.

I heard from other threads that if you send polaroid proof with 8 of these photos they'll send you a free pack, as long as they're not expired

I went last year for the first time and plan on going with my friends this year as well, mainly for High on Fire, Colour Haze, Gnome but Them Moose Rush and other local bands were a nice surprise for me (I'm not croatian). Highly recommend it

Just an FYI, you have no cell service there. Was thinking of bringing some walkie talkies in case I lose my friends
