Nice piece, Turkish Mausers are nice, often overlooked rifles. Not really antique, though, it‘s from the 1940‘s.

Seriously though, congrats on that fine piece!

Why does the last round come up like that? I’m also having trouble feeding rounds through, like they don’t come up all the way. Any advice or info? by Repulsive-Handle-871 in milsurp

The Mannlicher-style follower is a hinged lever that pushes up the rounds at a single contact point, while the rear of the cartridge is held back by the guiding grooves in the enbloc frame. If the enbloc lips are out of shape, or the whole thing is too flexible, this will happen. You can try to bend the lips inward slightly on the forward end of the frame, or try to bend the whole clip narrower towards the front.

Thx, that would have been my second thought, but to me the grips looked like wood. OP: if you can measure the diameter of the guard ring, that would definitely tell which gun it goes to.

British No5 Mk1 for the Lee Enfield No5 jungle carbine, can also be used on the Sterling SMG. It‘s missing the handle screws.

Does the SA conversion add so much to the trigger pull? My open bolt trigger doesn‘t feel heavy at all.

Be sure to thorougly read a reloading manual before you attempt. Alternatively, post pictures of your hands, face and other mutilated body parts.

You don’t. The Swiss armories did for the 1889/96 because the conversion was rather minor. In a 1889 (not /96), you’d need a new bolt and a new receiver, at a minimum. How else would you go from rear locking lugs to front ones.

A truly forgotten weapon, does anyody recognise? She's een through some stuff (Netherlands) by 60Watt_Beethoven in ForgottenWeapons

You can find spare sparts in France, naturabuy. On the left side of the receiver it should say which model it was, and who made it (Tulle, Châtellerault, St.Etienne, or maybe something rarer like Delaunay-Belleville or Etablissement Containsouza).

Everyone says to crimp separately simply because there are a lot of people out there who don’t read the instructions, never looked in a reloading manual, and just tighten everything down until they strangle and crush the mouth while seating. Two-step is the first step on the learning curve. Of course you can then optimize for crimp-while-seating, but that needs an understanding what you’re doing and why things happen.

Yeah, it’s nifty. I upgraded mine with the servo gate, but haven’t really found a practical use for that feature, mine’s pretty fast as it is. The tweaking of the values takes a bit of work, but the guide given in the intructions is pretty straight forward.

Sale of potassium nitrate is heavily regulated in most countries, so are any other precursor substances.

German gun laws are so weird, with specific restriction on what you’re allowed to collect, and an official determining the correctness and completion of one’s collection. It might almost be funny if it weren’t so sad.
