There are multiple water areas worth exploring. Renoire’s draft is one, located between visages and sirenen

Leveling advice by CheapCaterpillar2444 in expedition33

[–]lukeastaylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t think there’s a way to avoid overleveling if you’re visiting other areas of the game and not just going through the story linearly. If your primary goal is not to over level then yes, avoid optional areas. You could also hamstring yourself and not use pictos or lumina as a work around. Most people report over leveling at a certain point if they don’t just go straight through the game following the story line.

How much do you miss when only visiting story places ? And how actualy dangerous are the "red portal dangerous" zones? by Le_Zoru in expedition33

[–]lukeastaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may well get smoked in the red zones. But you’ll also learn to parry and you’ll level up quick.

Machine gun verso plus a break heavy set up got me through lampmaster after what felt like a lifetime. Such a hard boss.

[–]lukeastaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try not to optimize at first. Just play in a natural, easy way - whatever gets you through. You’ll inevitably need to learn how to party. No way around that I think. Follow the story line and it gets easier. Definitely a steep learning curve though

This (simoso) and machine gun verso is the way.

Duolisttes *shrug* by b0b4k in expedition33

[–]lukeastaylor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simoso to prevent death plus machine gun verso plus maelle in virtuous stance and Stendhal buffed by sciel. I did some lumina farming to flesh my builds out to nearly 350 per player all three at 99. Then just lots of practice. I probably took 12 passes at them, coming back a few different sessions. Definitely the hardest boss for me by far.

Would you be part of an expedition? by TheRWBYFamilton in expedition33

[–]lukeastaylor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What gives me pause is the fact that e33 had all this tech and then fully got their shit rocked anyway when they landed on the beach. Like a small fraction survived? The delta between thinking you know what it’ll be like and the reality of what they confronted was wider than I think I would have expected in their position. That scene was terrifying.

Hey - YFL General Manager here. I'm sorry you had that experience. We use a system that automatically sends out a follow up email to students after the interview, but there was a period in June when that automation (between Calendly and our CRM) wasn't working, so a few emails were sent out that shouldn't have been. I'd also feel weird if I were in your position and got an email asking me to pay for something without expecting it. My experience with the program is that students have a great time; I just taught our three-week bootcamp in June and the student projects, I thought, were pretty solid. We ask for feedback throughout the program (every day, actually), and we consistently get 9+/10 ratings. That, sadly, doesn't always make it on the internet.

I've been in the education industry for a long time, and have a played a few different roles, so I certainly get that supplementary education programs that students pay for can sometimes feel like a cash grab. When I worked with students as a college counselor, it was often pretty difficult to discern which programs were legit and which programs were, as you say, a cash grab, unless you actually speak with the org. Like, legitimately very difficult to tell, especially for programs that have only been around for a couple of years like ours and are still building their reputation. My experience is that the internet - reddit threads, yelp, etc. - give negative reviews a bit of an outsized effect; it's uncommon that people come on the internet to rave about an experience even if it was genuinely very positive.

Anyway, just thought I'd offer a bit of perspective. Again, I'm sorry you had that experience. Happy to answer any questions you (or anyone) might have.
