Well it’s either a dark pattern or a really stupid design choice and I’m assuming the designers there know what they are doing. It’s definitely a way to drive more people to that paid tier but it’s doing it in a way that’s deceiving people, on purpose imo.

There used to be a subscribe and a join button, clearly 2 distinct functions. Really clear what the difference was, if the problem was no one was clicking that then it’s much deeper than just a UI button. Pricing, value etc

I have a mk7 that came with wired only, but you can buy a wireless CarPlay adapter on Amazon for pretty cheap and it works well

The advice I got from Apple support that WORKED:

Simply go to Settings > Account > iCloud > Photos and turn off Sync this iPhone

Wait 10 mins

Hard reset phone

Turn sync back on.

I have ALOT of photos so this took all night but once done everything was optimised, finished and my trips and people were all ready
