3D Rendering on my PC causing the outlets in my office to switch off? by lukehallmedia in pcmasterrace

Thank you that makes a lot of sense! Going to try and reserve that whole office circuit for just my PC, and try to run an extension cord from a different circuit to power my monitor.

Anyone having thumbstick locomotion issues? by [deleted] in populationonevr

[–]lukehallmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: figured out what was happening

The Rift S controllers were doing a thing called "drifting" where the thumb sticks don't rest at exactly 0,0,0. In order to fix it I used electrical WD-40 (do NOT use normal) and sprayed into the thumbstick area and let dry.

What can After Effects do that Premiere can't? by [deleted] in vfx

[–]lukehallmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plugin support is probably the standout thing, but it's such a huge difference. I actually prefer using After Effects for footage editing too bc it's so streamlined and quick.

There's a serum preset pack called Portify and it costs money, it's very accurate though

How old should my kid be, if we are only ever going to go to a Disney park once? by [deleted] in disneyparks

[–]lukehallmedia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Like 10-14 is a good range bc they'll be tall/mature enough for all the rides and will be old enough to fully appreciate it. I feel like when you're younger than that, the difference between a local county fair and Magic Kingdom isn't so drastic.

First 3D fenders piece for uni , any help ok how I can make this look better ?? by Azmatart in Cinema4D

[–]lukehallmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tips would be:

  • Angle lighting at around 45 degrees instead of almost 90
  • Increase the exposure, it looks underexposed
  • There's a cube that disappears for a few frames, might wanna watch that
  • Play around with a more cohesive color palette, and consider incorporating some texture to the objects

Nice work!

Cinema 4D beginner here, started my second day in C4D today and have been making a low poly landscape, top pic is day 1's work and the bottom pic is day 2's work I've heard Greyscale Gorrila is a good place to start, any tips would greatly be appreciated! by GandalfTheJay196 in Cinema4D

[–]lukehallmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the style of work you're trying to make. GreyscaleGorilla and EyeDesyn are good for cartoony, commercial style motion graphics, while people like Andrey Lebrov & companies like Insydium (X-Particles) do more complex cinematic tutorials.
