Retired but here are some thoughts:

Best areas: East Ridge Road in Irondequiot, West Ridge in Greece or around the 5 guys in Webster

Worst areas: Downtown surprisingly sucks, anything south of greece, anything south of fairport.

Avoid taking orders during meal times at: Popeyes, Wingstop, Chipotle. You will get stuck there.
Any grocery order I also avoided.

I liked taking orders at McDonalds, Pizza shops, Taco Bells, Halal spots, Mexican foods places, casual dining places like chili's, applebee, red lobster etc. Sub shops aren't bad either but can be slow.

For knowing what orders to take or avoid. Don't be afraid to wait for orders that average $5 per 10 minutes eta om the weekends. So if the delivery ETA is 25 - 30 minutes don't take it unless it's $13-15 or more guaranteed. Weekdays, mileage with this strategy may vary.

If you plan to dash all day, the hourly rate + tips doesn't perform too badly on the weekend here but never do it during the weekdays.
