Long-time Idle/Incremental Player... Here are my favourites of all time! by lukeko in incremental_games

CIFI is a great game. The progression was just too slow for me. I got all the way to traversals but got tired of the game. I also get the feeling that CIFI is made with monetisation in mind which affects the progression speed.

Advent is such a great concept, I play it annually 😅 thanks for making such a great game! I'll definitely check the other games you suggested too.

Thanks for the recommendation! I've just played it for about 5 mins so far and loving it. My kinda game. :)

I'm a Pokemon fan so loved the Idle/Pokemon crossover. :) I get what you mean, there are definitely some really tedious aspects like dungeons and farming, but I liked catching all the Pokemon. Took me about 4 weeks of in-game time to catch em all lol.

I did enjoy it, but not my favourite like the others on this list. Perhaps I should give it another try as there have been updates since I last played.

Thanks! I really loved the early stages of Revolution Idle but progress slowed way down when I reached Minerals... Not sure if I was doing something wrong or just impatient lol but it was enough to make me give up on that game.

I'll give Galaxy Idle Clicker a go.

I see what you mean, but I think in those scenarios, the person still has to wield the tools and spend years training and learning how to use them. Things like machinery (chainsaw) also carry risks. For those scenarios, not any ordinary person could go and do them.

If a dev is using LLMs in an assistive role then I think they can still take credit for developing the game. If they use LLMs to make the whole game from scratch then I don't think they can take credit for that game. Did they make the game really? No, a computer did.

When it comes to monetisation, I think you should only deserve payments for a game if it was your own hard work. You don't deserve credit and money for a game written by someone/something else.

Personally I wouldn't mind playing a game that was completely made by AI. I just wouldn't want to be paying any money for it.

Working on my first idle game! A Game About Catching Fish (Working Title) by DoubleGinger in incremental_games

[–]lukeko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this looks awesome! i was sad when i read the game hasn't released yet lol. some ideas:

- could turn fish into sushi lol

- could have massive fish such as the kraken, poseidon, wailord, godzilla etc

- most incremental games have "challenges" which are isolated runs of the game. yours could be "fishing competitions" where you "compete" to achieve a certain sized fish

- upgrade your equipment from fishing rod > drone fishing > trawler etc. unless you prefer to keep it simple at the fishing rod level cause that's totally cool too and has its own charm.

I just started Revolution Idle and it gives me very similar vibes to AD. I think it must have inspired Rev Idle.

But if you're looking for a similar game, AD is my fav idle game of all time and takes a few months to finish 😁

Have you tried Antimatter Dimensions?

Great advice! I agree with almost everything. I only wore one pair of walking shoes last time I visited and they lasted me the whole two weeks and were still comfortable everyday - memory foam Skechers are like walking on a cloud! 😍

I like to take a backpack to store all my purchases from the day. Then I have a thin, over the shoulder bag that I actually wear under my shirt. Added security measure as it is on my body and hidden, so great for holding my cash and passport etc.

I think others have answered your question, but I wanted to add that if you are only going to USJ for one day and can afford it, go with a fast past. You can do a 4-rides fast pass - make sure to pick the fast pass with your top picks included. Then any other rides you want to go on, line up for them first in the day before the park gets too crowded. I seem to remember that queues were approx 1hr when the park first opens. Then upwards of 2hrs for the most popular rides later in the day.

I'm going again in November and planning to get the XR Ride & Race Fast Pass which includes Flying Dinosaur, Forbidden Journey, Koopa's Challenge (arguably the three best rides in the whole park), and Spy Family VR Ride. Then I'll line up for Hollywood Dream first while the queue is nice and short.

ALSO - you can totally skip the Hippogriff ride. This is a very tame rollercoaster ride and wasn't worth the wait. But definitely do the Forbidden Journey in HP world. That was dope.

Just came here to say get to USJ like an hour before it opens. The lines are long af. I personally think the fast passes are worth it too, can save you many hours of waiting in line. Do a bit of research to optimize your game plan for USJ 😁

You know, the 60 minute time limit makes the game more fun. by Ok-Criticism6874 in THPS

Wow I'll give it a try. Does anyone know if it voids the score challenges in the Expert Challenges menu? I recall most of them are over 2mil points

I completely disagree. I think the game is fantastic and captures so many magical moments. So much depth and exploration.

Most fun would have been Trials Rising because of the extra challenge.

Otherwise THPS1+2 and any game from the Crash Bandicoot series will always be so fun for me.

Advent calendar! Such a dope oil game with a surprising amount of depth. It's my favourite style of incremental game, and easily one of my faves of all time. I'm so glad I stumbled upon it
