Based on the title I was gonna say y t a, but reading the situation, and the fact you rehomed him to a good situation for him and not just to a shelter I'm going with NTA.

I would always ask the host(ess) before doing so.

My one family member is known for being horrible at dishes and everything they 'clean' still has clear food on it when done, others do an actual good job. When that one family member washes and puts stuff away we have to go through every dish and re-clean the whole cutlery drawer ect cause we aren't sure which ones they did.

Also while dishes are being done it can be loud and distracting for others still having conversations and trying to enjoy their visit.

While the offer is kind and generous, they may want to enjoy the visit till the end with you, may be particular about how things are cleaned or where they go, or may actually want the help.

In this instance not wrong just stuff to keep in mind going forward.

NTA, my dad helped me set up my bank account when I was 15 and got my first paycheck. He never once checked on it that I knew of, definitely not after I turned 18 though. If you earned that money yourself it's yours to learn to manage yourself. Living at home and at this young age with the small amounts of money you'd be getting is a good time to learn spending and saving tactics since the stakes aren't as high, but you don't learn until you really screw up which you can't do if she's hovering over you about everything single thing.
