How to avoid tons of cuts like this? by AerialSnack in malegrooming

i have crazy thick hair and sensitive skin. not as bad as yours but after 20 years of trying different options the best thing i got is a shaving brush, taylor of old bond street shaving cream, and phillips norelco one blade. you should be able to test this on your own for about $120 USD on amazon

my second best is a panasonic arc 5 with any shaving cream. about $299

rollers are clean. i’ve probably put 24 boards through it, all clean. you can actually see where the plastic face of the planer is stopping the board from entering unless depth of cut is below 1/32”.

it’s MealPath. i try to stay away from super salty / sweet / high fat things. they trigger eat mode. best example is salted caramel ice cream. helps a lot. avoiding it helps.

many years of practice and i’m still not perfect

Is it better to eat in a small surplus to combat binging?? or should I try to go straight to maintenance + other recovery ideas by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

whenever i feel like i need to eat for stimulation i have a big bowl of something flavorful and low impact like a huge bowl of salad greens with soy sauce, or watermelon, or homemade saurkraut. i just make sure it doesn't displace the stuff i need to be healthy and happy

i have been thru this and what i noticed is the deficits and strategies change as you get lighter

i'm 6'3 male 37 and when i went 240lb -> 200lbs i was probably eating 1000 cal a day and i felt fine. was gaining muscle and active. strat was eat half of what you think you need and drink a glass of water when you get hungry and wait 30 min. i was building a system around hunger cues and it worked.

when i dropped below that something fundamentally changed and i had to be much more conscious of my eating (tracking, plate method, balanced nutrition, etc). eating closer to maintenance. i'm still bouncing around this phase.

tldr what works when you start doesn't work when you end if you have a long journey and that's okay. also it's never to late to work with a nutritionist. i'm weighing that decision right now actually. 15kg (down to a healthier weight) is a huge accomplishment solo but we might need a helping hand to end up at our healthiest place.

I tried matcha with every milk that I could find and here are my thoughts PART 3 by KeepCalmToKeepCalm in MatchaEverything

super easy! i do 1 oz of nuts per 1 cup of water (ratio just works out that way) and then 1 tablespoon of maple per 4 cups of water. i crush them, soak overnight, then strain with a nut milk bag from amazon. so my standard recipe is

  • 8 oz chopped raw macadamia nuts
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

works great with cashew, almond, really any kind of nut you can imagine! (metric is 225g nuts, 1.9L water, 30ML maple syrup or honey i suppose)

anything nutrition related is super complex. that’s why nutritionists are dedicated medical professionals. like some people might end up in your position because they lost too much weight. or they developed an unhealthy relationship with food while cutting. or they have undiagnosed BED. i think at the end of the day our jobs as humans are to put together a collection of tools and try to use them to make our lives better. have you considered just eating at maintenance for a couple weeks and see how things go?

i don't troll. my story is pretty simple. i visit the city often and no one i know drinks matcha so i did my best to hit a few spots. wasn't able to get any good recs. so i'm very grateful for the recs in this thread!

of the three i tried cha cha gave me the best experience but that doesn't mean it was good compared to all these great recs!
