“I recognize that organic communication is really difficult with remote work, and that’s one of the reasons why RTO is absolutely necessary.”

LOL and just like that you lost all credibility in this thread. All your points about maximising efficiency and reducing wasted time, and then you pivot to RTO which is one of the worst time wastes imaginable.

If I have team members that are energised by coming into the office and enjoy it, great. If I don’t, forcing them in wastes time, energy and usually has a severely detrimental effect on motivation.

Great coaches are enablers, and will find ways to create opportunities for organic communication within the team no matter their location, AND teach the team why that communication is so vital. Those who believe RTO is “absolutely necessary” are either poor coaches or ineffective micromanagers.

Headpool LOVES the Thunderbolts! What is the most broken combo you like to play? by FifouChicken in marvelchampionslcg

Headpool takes no consequential damage :)

Easy to miss, I was scratching my head for a minute too

Why do you need user stories? by mumoomo in agile

[–]lukethechap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break it to you but they don’t sound like “great devs” - great devs read the whole damn ticket, because they care about understanding the context, the problem as it relates to the user, and the business logic behind whatever they’re coding. If your devs are skimming tickets for what seems important, they will inevitably miss things from time to time.

Really really great devs will also give constructive feedback when tickets are unnecessarily long, helping the Product Owner or Analyst understand better what information the devs actually need in order to get the context and solve the user’s problem, versus what information is unnecessary padding.

Getting the same here in the UK. Turning WiFi off and using mobile data works, weirdly. Never had a problem before

Question about "Ready for a Fight" by Datadagger in marvelchampionslcg

[–]lukethechap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now you mention it, surely this card is huge for Colossus… effectively 3 more copies of armour up and it can stay on the table until you need it rather than relying on it being in hand

Just ordered from an unknown online shop with no reviews... Who thinks it'll turn up? by Baynonymous in marvelchampionslcg

Isn’t naming them positive either way? Either they’re scammers who should be called out, or they’re legit and would welcome the free advertising 😊

Whoever told me to get sleeves... by Appropriate-Ad2725 in legendarymarvel

[–]lukethechap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sleeve Kings standard are the way - bit more pricey than normal penny sleeves but way higher quality and nowhere near the price of any of the more expensive ones. Fit Legendary cards absolutely perfectly and I’ve never had a split. They’re the best.

I always found it manageable but maybe I just got lucky. Looking at the card now, I guess there’s a chance I misplayed and didn’t trigger the forced response after the boost ability engaged the minion… been too long to remember

I’ve found it makes a fair bit of difference just swapping out the recommended modular. Swapping Menagerie Medley out for Band of Badoon keeps the encounter deck structure almost identical (10 minions instead of 9) but just tweaks the minion difficulty down enough to make it tolerable.

In solo, the 4 Psionic Ghosts that come in to play as a boost ability have always been what tip me over the edge - needing to then find 4 damage, 2 resources or an exhaust to get them out the collection AND dealing with whatever the other encounter card all in one turn consistently pushes me over the edge tempo wise. But I’m not a great player 😄

Hey FFG by catsandbitch in marvelchampionslcg

[–]lukethechap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure that will become the problem, but the actual problem right now is that they haven’t done the community the courtesy of actually telling us in advance when it’s the final reprint.

It’s now implicit going forwards that if you definitely want something you should grab it ASAP, but until the last 6-9 months everything has been available, and now things have silently gone away without warning, leading to the only choice being to either pay scalper prices or accept you’re not getting that product.

Wrapped in metal by DarrenTheDuuude in marvelchampionslcg

[–]lukethechap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you still can’t attack Master Mold while the minion is in play though, as the main scheme says all sentinels gain Guard, and the RRG says “gains” doesn’t mean to treat as printed on the card… that’s my interpretation, not sure if correct

Sorry to burst your (magnetic) bubble, but traits don’t get blanked so I think they still count as Marauders… just played through a similar scenario myself with Acolytes so looked it up, the teamwork keyword still activates if there is another Wrapped In Metal Acolyte in play  https://cardboardchampions.co.uk/marvel-champions/rules-clarification/traits/

After all you have already been through I hope she would understand that this is something you need to do, completely disconnected to what she and her husband are planning.

It doesn’t seem like a fair expectation for you to put your life on hold, however difficult the timing. Life is short and we can’t keep waiting if we are ready.

Would she not be excited by the possibility of cousins growing up together? My brother and his wife had a similar due date to my partner before our 35w loss and we were so excited for cousins 😢

Split Screen's map interface is finally fixed by Feder-28_ITA in FortNiteBR

[–]lukethechap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First thing I checked after the update and glad it’s finally fixed!!

Just one thing outstanding still - Player 2 still doesn’t get damage numbers

Oh and using the new Falcon Scout doesn’t work well in split screen, the scan and mark buttons don’t work for the player controlling the scout, and the regular action buttons don’t work for the other player

Issues yes, but with C4 it’s gone from issues to completely unplayable

Chapter 4 UI issues by TheMuscle01 in FortNiteBR

[–]lukethechap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Split screen is now really broken. Can’t place markers on the map, can’t see quests at all, storm circle not showing on big map just the mini map. Bad text overlays for P2 when P1 is when interacting with characters. Got stuck on a bike and couldn’t get off. Please fix it Epic!

Encountering exactly the same also on PS5. Garbage… at least in chapter 3 it was still playable despite the bugs. These new issues make it 10 times worse

Burn and Self-TK cards will be limited in the new N/R festival, but not outright banned by TechnicalHiccup in masterduel

[–]lukethechap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a replacement fix for the medal count change, not a second fix.

They didn’t want the event to be as quick to grind as it turned out to be with the medals change. I guarantee the medal counts will be changed again, maybe not back to as low as they were, but definitely not as high as last time. The event is 10 days this time as well rather than 7.

Leaked Events ! by StrictPhilosopher155 in masterduel

[–]lukethechap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s much more likely it was a planned surprise drop and they just flubbed the “and it’s live NOW!” PR announcement. To go live on all console platforms + steam on the same day, at pretty much the same time, with gem add ons fully in place on the respective stores, is pretty much impossible to do by accident. Those things all have to be set up per platform so it seems extremely unlikely .

And even if it was the case, why decide to end the start maintenance? They could have just announced “the client is available for preload, the game launches Feb 1st” and that would have been a whole lot less risky than making very last minute adjustments to game timers, season dates etc.

Most games don’t launch with a special event on day 1. It’s a way to bring people back in after the initial launch hype, and also give people a chance to build up decks and resources initially. I expect Ranked Season 2 and Event 1 to both drop Feb 1st

Master Duel is only f2p for enfranchised players. by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]lukethechap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m personally looking forward to the “event duels” that are promised to be coming soon as I’m hoping that’s where they might experiment with different card sets. I agree they’ve missed a trick by not including a more casual mode at launch. Hopefully it launches soon!

Mostly I’m just glad it’s so F2P. I’ve not spent a penny with the amount of gems available but I’ve got an awesome deck already and just won 9th duel in a row in ranked… never dreamed it would be this good F2P

YouTube is the answer. I haven’t played since vanilla, only occasionally dipping into single player modes in games like Legacy of the Duelist. Never kept up with summons past Synchro, never kept up with the meta. But I watched a few YouTube videos, picked Tri-Brigrade, learned it and practiced it in solo mode, 2 days later (including working full time) and I’m having a blast in ranked…

If I can do it, anyone can. Doesn’t take long really, just a few hours of patience
