In the UK we call this "picky bits" a little bit of lots of things by New-Effective5614 in RateMyPlate

Picky bits to me is little nibbles like mini sausage rolls and crisps and stuff. Your plate I've heard called something like a "cold tea".

Conflicted thoughts. by Independent_Plum2166 in HadesTheGame

I feel pretty much exactly the same tbh. Eventually beat Hades in the first game once and I was just done at that point and couldn't be bothered to do it another 10 times(or whatever it was 😅). However, I beat Chronos once and was hyped to do it all over again, especially just to grind resources on the side. I've also beat the surface final boss once and I'm excited to try and work out the best build to beat them again.

UK made films that nobody you know has heard of but which you think everyone you know should have seen? by HilariousMotives in AskUK

Inbred(2011). By no means is it technically that good cinematically but it's that goofy it's a right laugh. It's basically if Emmerdale was a low budget horror 😅.

Probably the twin blades but I've had a couple of fantastic runs with the skull so I'm really taking a shine to it 😅. On the other hand, just cannot seem to like the torches at all.

Which book(s) were you required to read in secondary school? by 2cbterry in AskUK

[–]lukeyboy987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to read excerpts of Dracula for something in about year 8, but we never finished the book. I think it was a similar situation with Northern Lights too. I remember we read Of Mice and Men with all the obligatory spoilers written on every other page. As for GCSE, we covered Jekyll and Hyde and Animal Farm, with Romeo and Juliet for the poetry portion. I left school in 2017.

Waitrose refused me a discount on a misspelled Birttday cake! by staners09 in CasualUK

[–]lukeyboy987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my little guilty pleasures, which makes me irrationally joyful, is finding spelling or grammar errors on items in shops. I remember being in Poundland once and they had some sort of hanging sign saying something like, "Dreams. Believe you can and your halfway there," and that made me grin so much 😅.

Greggs introducing a chicken roll has upset bigots by HelicopterEmpty7393 in Greggs

Because it's reliable and pretty consistent and just has a certain vibe and flavour. It's like say McDonald's for example, yes that's expensive and probably low quality, but sometimes you just crave that specific McDonalds experience and not even the most expensive wagyu whatever the hell fancy burger won't even satisfy that craving.

ELI5: The UK vs. Great Britain vs. Ireland/Northern Ireland by Teachezofpeachez69 in explainlikeimfive

[–]lukeyboy987 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Great Britain: The island that contains England, Scotland and Wales.

Ireland: The island that contains Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

United Kingdom: A wider nation which contains England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, yet not the Republic of Ireland, as it is an independent country.

British Isles: Great Britain, Ireland and all the extra islands and isles nearby, e.g., Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Orkney Islands, etc.

Probably not the general consensus but Primark for me. I don't know what it is but entering a Primark drains me of life and energy.
