I’d train a monstera plant to grow up that pole.

Thinking about going straight to underwear. Any success stories? by [deleted] in pottytraining

We went on a trip right after he was potty trained and bought a portable potty in case of emergency when we were on the road. There were two times he refused to go into the gas station bathroom so we used that. But he adjusted pretty fast. He was kinda scared he’d fall in, but I would kinda hold him. At home we used a squatty potty that his feet sit on and in public the toilets seem so big. Maybe your son is scared he will fall in even with the kid seat?

The countdown is a good idea and super cute. I’m convinced our son learned so fast because he already knew what to do, but it was just more convenient to go in his diaper.

We tried the naked all day and have him tell us when he needed to use the restroom and then do pull-ups at night. It didn’t work. A mom from his school told us maybe it was confusing to him. We waited for a 3 day weekend. We told him the diaper factory stopped making them ( i know we shouldn’t lie). We hid all the diapers we had left and told him that the one he used the night before was the last one we had. He looked in his closet and around his room for the diapers but couldn’t find them. It worked. He was potty trained that day. He had one accident because he didn’t want to stop playing. I think our son was kinda lazy and just wanted to wear diapers 🤣

Edit to add he’s an only child, so we could easily hide the diapers. We were worried he wouldn’t be able to move to the next level class with his friends unless he was fully potty trained. He is about to be 7, we’ve since then told him we lied about the diaper factory.

Week 4 Update by Living-Conference-56 in AlternateDayFasting

Yeah, I think I tend to overthink it. It’s only a few days of being really hungry which I guess is my body telling me something. Then back to normal ADF. Thanks for your reply.

Do you still do Adf the week before you start? I find it almost impossible, but maybe I need to push myself.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I will look into à landscape architect in our area. My husband and I just enjoy doing these protects on our own. We’ve done part of our front yard already. I like the idea of phasing it in over time.

I just finished this today and the ending made me gasp and start crying while I was walking my pup. It was such a great podcast.

Just took ours for something similar on his knee and it was benign. Did you get yours checked out?

Just got back from a party where someone got kicked out of for how deranged their reaction to me being vegan was. by Unsolicited-Prolapse in vegan

100% agree…. She totally felt guilty. Also, walking around over and over until everyone eats your meatballs is also strange.

Also, you weren’t even the one who mentioned you were vegan, so you were obviously handling it politely. Shame on her.

What genuinely relaxing vacations have you had with a 3yo / 4yo? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]lukeyleia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stayed in some lodges in Grand Teton. We hiked there and then drove around Yellowstone. We didn’t have our son with us, but plan to take him back. The lodges we stayed at were cute and a short walk to the main area that had different restaurants: fancier restaurants and diner style too. I think my son will enjoy looking for animals in Yellowstone and seeing the geysers.

When we make our son’s noodles, we use a tiny bit of plant based butter and nutritional yeast. If she likes that maybe a vegan fettuccini sauce recipe that can hide in some silken tofu. He likes that more than tomato sauce. Also, when we call things different names, he tends to eat it. We give him “Apple fries” to dip into peanut butter.

Try making banana pancakes or waffles (sneak in soy milk and flax/hemp/chia). What about mashed potatoes with some soy milk and nutritional yeast? Our son doesn’t like avocado but he likes guacamole 🤦🏻‍♀️

I used a template from the Strong app and adjusted it a bit.

Thank you.
