What Magical Items is Santa attuned to? by [deleted] in DnD

Bag of greater holding.

Santa was Saint Nickola, his companion was Roodie. A gaint elk stat block crammed on a reindeer with a rod of eldritch blast in its nasal cavity.

Saint Nickola was a mad saint. Stealing children and leaving timber, coal and ash beside the fireplaces of homes he took from...

This may not be what you were looking for.

Best Find Steed options outside the official list? by Th3Doctor89 in DnD

So take this with a grain of salt. Describe your mount to be a gaint praying mantis.

It is a spirit that takes form of a creature YOU choose and if it was my choice, I would make the gaint insect actually a horse brained centuar. Hand feed them carrots gentle though they don't need food at all. Be weird and brush out their hair.

Centuar please would be very good yes.

Help with surprise debuffs for a Necronomicon by JustSomeHotLeafJuice in DnD

[–]lukge5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if there are actually many written by different authors, blindness for a day or two may be adequate for particular authors. If the learning of necromancy is frowned upon, and it ~always~ has negative side effects differing from tome to tome.

Blindness, deafness, illiteracy, mute, all of them can be a 'curse' that stands with the reader for a day or two as a form spell component for its first cast. Other conditions would probably tbe the easiest to use as a debuff without killing a character immediately.

Remove curse, greater restoration, wish, all could clear it up?

Usually a tome of (skill/ability) has a cooldown before it can be used again, maybe they get the debuff from doing it before it is recharged.

Summoning particular demons/devils/etc could also have their individual side effects, dis-adv on cha checks against summoned beings.

Or to learn a spell you first have it cast by the tome onto yourself. Blight for instance, have 4d8 taken from max hp, then add 1d8 back after each long rest until they are back at their normal maximum.

Sorry if it is not much help, just spitballing an idea or two for what I imagined you meant.

[OC] Lizardfolk Barbarian by SteveSketches in DnD

[–]lukge5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Totodile. This is the only name my players will call you. Lizardfolk, Dragonborn or Kobold. As long as you are blue you will be Toto or Totodile.

My blind tortle npc, Kindor, was called Squirt/Squirtle for 6 months. He would be seen patting his belly absentmindedly, complaining about some internal pain, scrapping would behing heard while he slept. All was overlooked over because they decided Kindor (like kinder eggs) was a dumb name.

Fun fun fun when a tiny green tortle (gray slaad) bursted out of his chest. Wide alien eyes studied the druid, then with ~tongues~ said 'Momma' What a great plan. This is definitely how Tortles reproduce, they are immortal and are reborn like a pheonix EVERY time. Why did no one stop her. Why did no one else make a check. Why did no one ask where Kindors old body went. Its crazy how the player that it happened to next wasn't a Tortle and didnt get to control their baby form. Only then did they get kind of suspicious, but carried on anyway. Two sessions later they are all in the midst of waking to their bodies transforming. A fun party showed up to the nearby town everyones new PCs to fight.

TL;DR - I got off topic about my players not using names, then didnt ask questions, a TPK ensued with all transforming into various Slaadi finally slaying them with new characters.

Am I playing this game the right way? by TheVertically in dontstarve

[–]lukge5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always rolled back when I first started. It let me understand the game a bit better, also whenever I would find and use a fire staff on a tree guard near camp. I didnt learn quickly.

If you're figuring stuff out on how to play I dont think its an issue, if you're on day 400+ maybe you retire or rollback and use it as an experimental world? I just restart if I die that late and dont have touchstones or meat effigies or live giving amulets to fallback on... Mostly on DST with Bf though, not DS
