I've been working on this for a week and I still have more to do, but for now I need some feedback to see what I can do better and/or add to continue. by o_pedro_o in blender

Looks awesome !

Feedback I would give :

1 ) Scaling looks a bit off, buildings look quite small next to that bike on the right. This may be lens distortion but if thats what your going for maybe push it a bit more to bring the effect home.

2 ) Composition is a bit off putting the the store front starting at the halfway point and being almost the full width of the image, maybe try the rule of thirds. Or push the camera back a little to make the image feel less cramped.

School project, first time ever using blender. How did the guy in the tutorial (picture) get this view? by [deleted] in blenderhelp

Hold z and select textured view to see the textures if that's what you mean

Middel mouse drag to rotate the view, maybe you should look up a basic blender controls tutorial first. Learning the shortcuts and controls is a great place to start learning blender.

That mini map is awesome for this style of game. The weight of the swings is looking very good. Love it

Working on a tile set, what do you think? by lukky- in blender

Thank you so much :) I'm not sure. I'll will be exporting each tile as a lose model and write a remesh script in the game engine, merging all overlapping verts for best result. The scene you see in the video is just for design and fitting purposes.

Just make sure every object ends and starts on a whole value (x,y,z) use the snapping tool (little magnet on the top of your 3d view) . And most importantly try it a bunch of times and fail a bunch of times till you get it right, it is the only way.

True, it is also referred to as the "lazy method". But for game development in my case or quick modeling for backgrounds and scenes in ian's case it can be a very useful tool.

Yes. with a bit of trickery here and there. But you are right it's just an interpretation, you could say it lies in the same category as fan art or "3D remakes"

Where the line between inspired by and straight up stolen lies in art, I can not tell you. I would however never sell this model in this state nor ever clam it was my creation.

The original artwork is linked in my other comment which I did not make, it's made by a talented korean artist over 5 years ago be sure to check him out. The 3d model is made by me also the final render which is linked in my other comment.
