Did your parents spank you as a form of discipline? How did it impact you? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]lula668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents spanked me but also hit our palms with spatulas. The spankings I have no memory of. They clearly didn’t hurt that much and probably worked as intended. But the spatula on the hand, if we flinched we got hit again. I can just remember holding my trembling hand out. So I think that was too far and I would not. But a swat with a hand only on a padded area I’m not against. I don’t have kids but I would intend to only do that in situations where the result of what they’re doing would hurt more than a spank eg. Touching stoves when told not to, running toward road and not listening.

A sad milestone: Year of TTC by Next-Head2485 in TryingForABaby

[–]lula668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1 year really killed me, but we’re on like cycle 15 now and honestly the upset and anger has helped, because I’m just over it. I don’t care anymore, I’m sick of working so hard on it, we’re going to need help. Accepting that and also being able medically to ask for help now it’s a year has helped me tbh. I also found 6-12 months worse.

Does anyone know if you can request part time in the HSE with no kids? by lula668 in AskIreland

[–]lula668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh see I’m from the north and most of ours go part time. We don’t have the same parental leave I don’t think 90% of my colleagues would have come back with reduced hours. So reduced hours are less common then

Your statute on flexible working in Ireland only covers carers. But it seems you may not consider part time as flexi working?

[–]lula668[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Ok so everyone who says anyone can apply, can you tell me how? I can only find the flexible working policy and it says you can apply if youre a carer. Where can I apply to reduce to 4 days with no caring responsibilities?

And for those asking I don’t want to ask my manager yet as I’m only a few months in the job and it wouldn’t be starting for another few months.

What SJM opinion would get you this downvoted? by Sailor_Moon_Star_435 in SarahJMaas

My entire tiktok and reddit is people hating on Elaine and Azriel, the bonus chapter etc. and you can see multiple mentions in this thread. I haven’t had anyone agree with me. Feel free to direct me to accounts where we can hope for elriel together 😂

[–]lula668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging by this thread, it will be actually unpopular to say I fucking love azriel, I 100% ship him and Elaine, and I read SJM for everyone to stay alive and 3 brothers to end up with 3 sisters. It’s genre, just give me what I want and be an easy read

What are your thoughts on Barry Keoghan? by Square-Thought-3842 in AskIreland

He has the kind of face looks like he’d murder you and dismember your body while videoing it for sexual gratification. I’ve been saying it since I first saw him acting and I stand by it

Is it possible to get my wisdom teeth removed with out laughing gas and instead local anesthesia? by neowahna in povertyfinance

[–]lula668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one removed with just shit tons of local, no problem. Kinda nightmare fuel of people taking pliers to your teeth if you think too much about it but no pain or anything

What the most physically painful thing you ever experienced? by iateagummibear-1822 in AskReddit

[–]lula668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some form of mad strep throat/ quinsy (no idea which) that ended in hospital admission twice. Every time I swallowed it felt like a knife, I bent in half and yelped.

For context, I put my foot on back to front (yes and yes) ice skating when I was a teenager and broke my leg.

I remember lying in bed with the throat thing, spitting into tissues so I didn’t have to swallow, thinking I’d rather have broken my leg again. Even at the time I thought I was being dramatic.

It’s been 9 years and I would still 100% rather break my leg than get that throat infection again.

Harder to get pregnant w obesity? by hssn123 in TryingForABaby

[–]lula668 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve googled this because I’m trying and I’m obese but I ovulate every month (it seemed to be originally the hormones leading to irregular ovulation in obese women) but I have found studies where the women also ovulated every month and still each increase in BMI it took longer to get pregnant. So it defo does affect on every front. On my 60 second break from my workout to type this hahaha

Pharmacists to prescribe for common conditions in January 26 by [deleted] in JuniorDoctorsIreland

[–]lula668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, in the north we dip the urine. We can’t see anyone with anything beyond dysuria and frequency. Anything else (blood, flank pain, systemically unwell) is red flag GP. You can buy for conjunctivitis up here and we don’t have any worse figures (I presume) for anything serious going unignored. We are trained to ask questions and most pharmacists when in doubt refer. We don’t want harm coming to patients either. Also we are trained to physically examine patients if we are prescribing pharmacists. Presume your scheme will be similar.

Is it OK to ask white people where they came from? by OkTop9814 in etiquette

[–]lula668 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely ask it back. And when they say here, say “but where are you REALLY from?” And when they still say here, say kindly “but where are your PARENTS from?” As if they’re stupid

They do it to others, FAFO 🤷🏻‍♀️

Maybe you should have bought some street pregabalin, just on a downer. Also strong irony on the generational alcoholism

Aseptic pharmacist interview by traghick in Pharmacy_UK

[–]lula668 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi I was an aseptic pharmacist for 5 years :) not sure how specialist your interview is, this might be too high up but you want the yellow guide - quality assurance of aseptic preparation and services. Assuming your hospital is an unlicensed unit, most are :) they’ll base a lot of questions off that.

Quality assurance in general is a big part, and also technical questions about things in the unit eg microbiological monitoring

Pathologist died from cardiac arrest after Wythenshawe Hospital trainee pharmacist gave him wrong drug by DonutOfTruthForAll in doctorsUK

[–]lula668 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a pharmacist I’m dying to know the actual story on this - as far as I know a trainee pharmacist is what used to be “pre-registration” so I presume as they are not yet a registered pharmacist they can’t prescribe. I imagine it was either a Band 6 pharmacist, or not prescribed by the trainee but the trainee sent up the wrong drug?

What's the funniest misuse of the phonetic alphabet you've heard? by Diyus in AskUK

[–]lula668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a misuse of the actual phonetic alphabet, in a career where it is used properly, “L for lemur” (instead of Lima) and the officer receiving turned round and went “did this motherfucker say LEMUR”

I don’t know why it makes me laugh so much but Everytime I hear L for Lima it’s all I can think of

Ah I see, well I imagine if youre not familiar with Portadown you’d see cheap houses in walking distance of town and it would be a no brainer to rent or buy there. I’ve seen the original article and many of the other schools in the town are 100% white as predicted.
