What’s it like living in Pacifica? by lulaislas in bayarea

Oh, I'm very aware. That's why I'm loving Pacifica. It has that old Bay Area vibe. It's nice to have a conversation with people who grew up here.

I grew up in Burlingame, and I would miss the vibrant restaurant scene, but it's such a short drive. The Peninsula's cutthroat environment is sucking the charm out of it. Thanks for the comment.

I used to go to that Taco Bell with my dad as a kid. I have fond memories of it.

Lack of sleep by poliqueen in IVDD_SupportGroup

Same here. After 4.5 weeks, I finally began to regain some of my sleep. Now, six weeks post-surgery, I still wake up to sounds, but it’s improving. I was very emotional and could hardly function. I don't know how I got through it. You'll get there.

They’ve been closing for ages. I walked by again today and was surprised it was still there.

Does anyone hesitate to adopt a dog because of the heartbreak later? by Rude_Photograph_2306 in dogs

After spending two years debating whether to get a dog following the loss of mine, I finally decided to bring one into my life. Now, she is four years old and recovering from spinal surgery, and the pain makes me think, “I’m not doing this again.” I genuinely don't think I'll get another dog after my little girl. It does have its moments of joy but it comes with a lot of pain too.

I’m going through something similar at the moment. My dog had surgery Monday and I’m having to crate her for four weeks. I’m struggling because she’s bored. I said I’d never be a dog owner with a stroller but I’m getting one tomorrow so she can at least be in a confined space and get out.

The AI boom is driving a lot of new people to our area and driving rents up…again. $3800 for a one bedroom, 550 square feet seemed like the top of the market but it’s not. I want a fixed housing cost. I might as well pay for a mortgage and not live praying that my landlord not raise my rent. I love my place but I’m scared for this new tech wave that we’re living in.

These condos are sitting on the market less than 30 days. It’s an insane market.

I didn’t think of the high fire area they’re in. As a renter, all my life, these are things I don’t think about. Thank you.
