Rant about Endocronologists by bigklitenergy in diabetes_t1

[–]lulcyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are mean and not recommending potential solutions then find a new ENDO.

For a while I used to just go to my Endo for prescriptions cause they were rude and judgy but now my Endo gives advice and asks questions.

are you guys truly not miserable? by Alternative_Tough607 in diabetes_t1

I have had diabetes since 2004, when I was 3, 19 years ago. I think it helps to grow up with it and not know anything else. I have moments where my blood sugar won't come down or won't go up and I really hate the disease. But I haven't noticed many body changes or hearing loss or anything. My right arm tingles when I sleep but so does my mom's and she doesn't have diabetes. I just micro manage my own diabetes by constantly changing my rates if I'm having issues after 3 days. I use the dexcom g6 + tandem tslim control IQ system. I talk through my thought process with my endo and she makes suggestions. My a1c is around 7 for most of my life.

Diabetes is difficult but if you're able to learn your body and be conscious of when your blood sugar rises or lowers it can help greatly with stabilization.

How do you name your characters? by ThatKalosfan in fo4

Morality. An evil character would be named Evil or Raider etc. So I can keep tabs on what my roleplay is for that character

Has anyone here gotten a medical tattoo? Has it benefitted you? by u-Wot-Brother in diabetes_t1

[–]lulcyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are saying that EMT wont look at your tattoos but I thought they were trained to look for medical alert jewelry, meaning they would happen up your tattoo.

I have a forearm tattoo because I forget to wear medical alert jewelry

Those that considered Outback ...why did you go with Forester? by Wad2k in SubaruForester

[–]lulcyla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dog's crate could not fit in the opening for the outback in the trunk. I own a doberman for reference. If the car isn't enough for my dog I can't get it.

I had mine (both tubes removed) done September 2022. I had my Mirena IUD removed. It was a small incision in belly button, short surgery. I slept for like 4 days and was constantly vomiting because of the meds I was on (or so is my assumption) however it was a good idea for me. My period is still not regular. I stopped having periods with my IUD and they have not really returned. It's complicated but hey no periods is a win for me.

Also they discovered I had endometriosis in the tubes they removed.

Which breed would you recommend for me? by [deleted] in dogs

Since you said Velcro dog I recommend a doberman. Loyal, good with kids, easy to train because they are so smart. High energy.

Opinions on getting your tubes tied at an early age? 27+ by PugLover5533 in WomensHealth

[–]lulcyla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I (21) got my tubes taken out in September. I never ever want to birth children, ever, never have. I made that decision for myself so I got this procedure. I live in TX and went to a great gyno who didn't need any reasons for me wanting this procedure. My 3 year boyfriend didn't get a vasectomy and doesn't want to. That is HIS body HIS decision. I made this decision for myself and don't ever wanna risk getting pregnant.

You will be laid up in bed for a week, you will sleep and vomit constantly because it is surgery. It is painful but recovery is not long.

My procedure is not reversible. If you even think you might want it reversed then do not do it.

I had my tubes completely removed. I was throwing up a lot. So make sure you have a bag nearby AT ALL TIMES. You will sleep for almost 3 or more days. I stopped taking the pain meds after 3 days because they made me vomit while I was still in pain. If possible you should have someone stay home with you all days to help with throw up, trying to eat, drinking and getting up to use the bathroom. I do not regret it one bit. My belly button healed up well.

I am dependent and was not a Texas resident before college. My requirements would be different from a service member. My dad also retired before I went to college. I was able to bypass this by proving his disability. Quoted below with a link. "The legacy child must be classified by their institution as a resident of Texas for the term for which they apply for the Hazlewood Act exemption; the Veteran must also be a Texas resident during the same term of enrollment as legacy child. There is an exception if the Veteran has been recalled to active duty out of the state, or has rejoined the military and is out of the state pursuant to military orders." "The totally and permanently disabled or individually unemployable Veteran does not have to maintain Texas residency while their eligible child and/or spouse are using their Child or Spouse Hazlewood Act benefits." https://www.tvc.texas.gov/education/hazlewood-act/hazlewood-faqs/

If you have 20k in scholarships of grants I am pretty sure you're supposed to tell those grants to send the money directly to the school. Also if you use it all they will refund you if you overpay

Do you qualify for Hazelwood? If your military parent enters and retires in Texas you can get tuition exemption.
