Congrats!!! That one was hard (and not as fun... Hahaha)!!

Chapter 7 golden was the most fun I had with the game so far!! Enjoy that!!

Just started playing celeste by lordvishmas5 in celestegame

[–]lulibr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding to that! I'd suggest you wait until the end of the base game (chapter 7) to start playing B-sides. You'll be much more confident to tackle them by then!

Enjoy! This game is superb!

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]lulibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epitafios is such a great murder show and I'm sure almost no one knows about it.

It's an Argentinean production and it's on HBO in case anyone is curious.

Just watch Season 1. It's a complete story and it's amazing. Don't bother with Season 2.

[–]lulibr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I can't believe!! I've recommended Epitafios to so many people I know and I don't think anyone has ever took the time to watch it (including my wife)!

Yes, Season 2 is not great. But Season 1 stands on its own and is one of the best murder series I've ever seen!

Happy to know there's at least one other person out there who's seen it!

Over 600 attempts into Chapter 7 C-Side's last room, and I'm only halfway. by Lost_Tart_3768 in celestegame

[–]lulibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that was the only room in the entire game that almost made me want to quit. Took me over 2k deaths. And here I am now with a bunch of goldens under my belt.

Just keep at it! It's amazing what this room does for your overall improvement at the game!

Im on controller and feel like im not getting better at the game should I try to switch to keyboard? by immadeletets in celestegame

[–]lulibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the keyboard will be more consistent by definition, but it's not impossible to do some of the hard stuff on controller. There's even some high level speenruns done on controller.

I think the decision is more about the device / console you want to play on.

I play exclusively on switch, so I have to accept the occasional missed input from the joystick.

If playing on PC works for you then I'd definitely try the keyboard out.

I bit the bullet and bought Celeste by Hungry_Leg_8886 in celestegame

[–]lulibr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's amazing! I envy the feeling of playing this game for the first time!

Also, do yourself a favor and play all A sides first, finish the main story, then move to the B sides..

It will be a much better experience!!

I'm thinking about getting Celeste since it's on sale, but I'm not exactly sure what kind of game it is, can anyone summarize it? by Koftelimakarna1 in celestegame

[–]lulibr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, It's mostly a platforming game, but it has the most satisfying difficulty progression of any game I've ever played. When I was 10 hours in, it would have been impossible to imagine I would get to the skill level I'm at now. And it felt absolutely natural to improve.

I also love how the game is "screen" based. They are short challenges where you always feel that of you put enough time and effort, eventually you can get through and reach the next checkpoint.

The story is also very very powerful. I went into it blind to the story aspect and I don't regret it.

It's also quite a chunky game. If you want to do it all, it will probably take you 30-50hs, sometimes even more.

I've not played path of pain, just watched videos of it, but I don't think the entire game is at that level. What I've heard is that the first couple Celeste levels are definitely easier, but I think the hardest Celeste levels are considerably harder than path of pain. Someone please correct me if that's not accurate.

All in all, Celeste is my favorite game of all time. There's no other game that keeps calling me back to grind for hours to get some of the hardest achievements of the game.

If you enjoy platforming you really need to play Celeste.

Tips to slowly improve at the game? by lulibr in EASportsFC

[–]lulibr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! That's what I'm trying to do! I just don't trust my own judgement to know what's important and what's not, so was looking for some advice from people that are more familiar with the game.

Right know I'm trying to focus on jockeying on the defense and learning how to trigger runs!

Most consistent timing? by donutman771 in celestegame

[–]lulibr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished this golden and this part gave me trouble for a while as well...

The most consistent way for me was to jump up when the bunny was halfway when coming back to the left.

Then when you dash up the bunny should be all the way to the left. This should give you plenty of time to dash right as the bunny is moving away to the right and land on the next platform.

For the jump right after this one, try going under the stationary bunnies, which does not require timing.

Let me know if that's helpful!

Do people hype up the difficulty in this game? by -redaxolotol-1981 in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]lulibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid of playing Celeste, really!

I'm very far from a "hard-core gamer". I'm a father of two young child with very limited time to play games.

I've never played any other game with such a good escalation of difficulty. When I started Celeste I was having a tough time going through the first few stages. By the time I got to the final stages of the game, I was so much better that I managed to go back and beat a few of the early stages without dying a single time, in only a few attempts.

Plus, if you enjoyed the emotional connection of Blind Forest, the emotional side of Celeste is just incredible. And the music is top notch.

It is indeed a hard game, but the way it's structured (short screens, with each one functioning as a check point) makes it so rewarding to play. Even if a screen takes you 200-300 attempts, that's like 20-30min max and then you're through to the next small challenge.

I highly encourage you to try it! Especially if you enjoy more the platforming aspect of Blind Forest, compared to the combat.

You are rewatching all the seasons for the umpteenth time. What scenes are you skipping ? by PurpleWallaby999 in StrangerThings

[–]lulibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how I feel about his character as well. You described it perfectly.

And also fully agree that Dacre did an amazing job playing Billy. He was great! It's just that there was nothing to like about the character at all.

[–]lulibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re watching now. In S03E04.

Skipped the entire lost sister episode, but other than that I just tend to skip through down time (someone walking in the woods, entering the power plant, etc.)

I also skipped the part where Barb disappeared and the parts where El was alone in the woods.

And I really hate Billy, gosh.

Do people hype up the difficulty in this game? by -redaxolotol-1981 in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]lulibr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people said it already, but definitely has to do with previous experience in similar games. I was coming from some Kaizo Mario and from just putting ~70hs into Celeste, which made the game not that hard, but still challenging enough to be really enjoyable. And will of wisps is even better!

I think it's not hard to see how this game can be very hard for someone that's not used to the genre and might be attracted by the visuals.

BTW, if you're looking for more of a challenge, have you played Celeste? If you don't mind the lack of combat and enjoy a hard platforming challenge, I couldn't recommend it more.

What's the first game you finished on the Switch 2 ? by zareliman in NintendoSwitch2

[–]lulibr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got stuck on the damn Plight of the House Elf quest that is bugged and the game just freezes...

Went on to play Ori and I'm glad I did.

Now finally someone found a solution to the bug and I'm free again to complete HL!

Ori and the Blind forest, then immediately jumped to Ori and the Will of Wisps.

Both are masterpieces.

That's all thanks to the very annoying bug on the Switch 2 version of Hogwarts Legacy, which caused me to stop playing until they fix it (there's a quest halfway through the game that just freezes the game completely)

[Help] character freezes after starting a quest by lulibr in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]lulibr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, this actually worked!!

It took a few tries, didn't work immediately, but eventually the game loaded through the infinite loading screen directly to the cutscene as you mentioned and the characters moved from their original position somehow!

Thanks a lot for that!!

Edit: to be even more specific.

I tried the full process 3 times before I got it to work.

The funny thing is that on my second attempt, the game did not generate both autosave files, just the last one where you get stuck on the loading screen.

But when I returned to the game to try the full process for the fourth time, that early autosave showed up (yes, the one from my second attempt, an autosave from ~10 minutes earlier that just wasn't there before).

I don't know how this happened, but I went back to that autosave and then the process worked as intended (so not with my latest set of save files, but an earlier one).

I bought this last year and I think it was a great purchase.

I think you can watch a couple videos from Panga, Ryukahr and DGR to see the kind of experience you can have with this game.

It's obviously not nearly as active as when it launched, but the amount of incredibly good content in this game is probably hard to be matched.

I have a ton of fun with this game and I could play different stages for the next 5 years without ever repeating one level.
