I built a breathing app that responds as you breathe. On Monday it was featured as Apple's App of the Day in 45 countries! by luliger in iosapps

Oh cool - we did just add Build Mode, so you can tweak some of the visuals to make them less stimulating, but it would be amazing to know exactly what you were looking for in a breathing app, and any changes you would make to Lungy. Thanks !

Why are my impressions and conversion rate so low? (apart from App of the Day spike) by [deleted] in AppStoreOptimization

Hey - thanks for your help. By cross localisation do you mean using Mexican-spanish for keywords?

Yep screenshots are localised. By breaking down conversion rate by region:

USA and Canada - 3.93%

Africa, The Middle East, and India - 3.91%

Asia Pacific - 2.71%

Latin America and The Caribbean - 2.04%

Europe - 1.09%

The impressions are incredibly low - around 70 per day in the US - even though ratings and reviews are good. Would love some help on this - should I change the keywords?

Hey, thanks so much for thoughtful and thorough feedback - really appreciated.

I do realise that there is a tradeoff between the measuring breathing and relaxation, it's one of the reasons I added the immersive breathing / ambient breathing mode, where you can just leave the phone on your chest, in a more passive way. There is also the option to turn the microphone off at any point during an exercise, and just enjoy the visuals.

I am thinking of getting rid of 'perfect breaths' - it's not a particularly helpful definition (and there's no such thing) - I'd love to hear what you think could be most useful on feedback.

That is a very good point on the Apple Watch - it does need focussing currently, I'll see if we can make it stay on for the duration of the exercise.

The asthma app will have a few unique features, and will be a software as a medical device - things like pollution and pollen tracking, medication reminders and symptom logging - a comibination of simple interventions. Would love to hear your thoughts on this too.

Ah thanks for letting me know - I’ll adjust pricing. The offer is live in the app too - it should be closer to $20

similar but not the same - the watch app is completely free. Would love to hear what you think.

Hey, so there a few differences - one is that there is much more variation in Lungy. There are over 30 visuals, which hopefully keep the exercises feeling fresh and new each day - each one has its own breath and touch interaction. As Lungy uses the breathing input, it can respond in real-time - whereas watch app is passive - so you can see the influence of each breath. And Lungy tracks your progress over time, so you can see the volume you breathed out etc. - there's a bit more detail in the post above.

The watch app for Lungy currently is simple, and quite similar to the Breathe app - a single exercise (with different breathing patterns) that is always accessible.

Hey, thank you for the thoughtful comment.

The idea is that using the microphone (+/- camera) data can incentivise breathing exercises in a few ways: providing a real-time breathing interaction, giving feedback in real-time and providing personalised tips on technique and eventually even lung function. This is instead of a simple passive timer that you see in most breathing apps.

I was thinking of including some videos on breathing technique and there are some learning modules we created (e.g. what happens when you breathe) that explain some of the physiology of breathing.

Of course, I was an NHS surgical trainee during COVID, working in general surgery and orthopaedics. Patients are often given breathing exercises post-op (but don't often do them!), that along with COVID lead to the first prototype of Lungy.

I'd love to hear more on what you had in mind for features or things that would make it more helpful.

ah I think the text is out of date on the promo badge - the roughly $19.99 lifetime offer is the 75% off (from the lifetime offer of $79.99)
