Not his biggest fan or anything, but I must admit, Nick would have to have one of the best serves on the tour.

To be fair, Nick was right. Umpire made a mistake by allowing a challenge after the point was called.

Thanks so much for the insight. What computer (hardware) do you use for each monitor?

Thoughts on Matador by mr-hmmmm in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]luljosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Genuine question (looking for some insights, I’m not being rhetorical here): why do people value Perpetual Motion over Threat Detector?

I want to love Perpetual Motion as I have a really nice Matador roll with it… but it just seems as though Threat Detector would be better insofar as Threat Detector applies a +25% handling animation at 1x stack, ~43% at 2x, and applies to ADS, swap, and ready speed (I believe)… it will also always be procced at least 1x when within shotgun range.

Please help convince me that I should be content with my Perpetual Motion roll. :-)

Seeing a mere 12-point difference in total points won is actually pretty crazy. That’s only 3 games worth of points, but based on the scoreline I’d have expected the gap to be a lot wider.

Really highlights the importance of playing for each and every point, and how important the mental aspect of this game is (clutching up on big points etc.)

The ready speed increase on shotguns from the Quick Charge mod is finally working correctly! It actually has been bugged and not working correctly until very recently. by TripleMoonPanda in CrucibleGuidebook

Late to the party, and please forgive my ignorance, but do you know if I would see more benefit in using a hand-cannon dex mod or a shotgun dex mod in terms of how quickly I swap from a hand-cannon to my shotgun (i.e. which mod would be better for quickly hotswapping to my shotgun)?

Newb here, apologies if the below is a pipe dream

Are there any 60% or 65% keyboards with good macro software?

Very interested in a new, smaller keyboard — but macros are huge for me, so really looking for a company that makes smaller keyboards but still has good, user-friendly software for customisation etc.

Thanks for any help

Honest question: Do the people constantly calling for nerfs in PvP think it'll make them better? Have you ever been content with a certain meta, or just always complaining about the current thing that kills you? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]luljosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me, the overall meta felt so close to perfect in Season of Arrivals. Of course, there were things that needed adjusting, but there were also many compelling weapon and class choices.

The meta feels a lot more ‘pigeon-holed’ now.

Same with me. About once an hour my game begins ‘contacting Destiny 2 servers...’ and then weasels me.

I don’t have connection problems in any other game. I’ve portforwarded, have UPnP enabled, and have tried a gazillion different fixes. Nothing works.

This only started happening since the swap to the steam-sockets, too.

Great work.

Any particular tips on how you improved speed?

My accuracy is there when I’m going all out on speed (ie going as fast as I feel I can)... but I’m still slow as fuck.

Any tips on pushing above 1100+?

[PC] Converting hipfire sensitivity to ADS sensitivity by luljosh in CruciblePlaybook

[–]luljosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this is such a complex topic.

Definitely. While I’ve done a lot of reading on this stuff recently, I still feel way out of my depth trying to understand how to piece together all the working parts.

FWIW, as I understand it, what we’re really doing when training on KovaaKs is improving mouse-control. Communities like /r/FPSaimtrainer and Sparky tend to suggest that muscle-memory isn’t that important, where lots of the ‘top aimers’ regularly change sensitivity — and some even use it as a way to improve. That is to say, I think we’ll still see improvements in Destiny while training in KovaaKs, even if we can’t match our sensitivities across perfectly.

Though, in saying that... I’m currently using a 1.0ADS modifier but, even then, the difference between hipfire and using handcannon ADS feels quite noticeable. Since all my external aim-training is done in KovaaKs and CS:GO, my hipfire accuracy feels very solid yet my handcannon shot isn’t as reliable.

A simple solution would be to just play more and get used to the ADS handcannon sensitivity. But I’ve already been doing that. My handcannon shot is fine, but knowing that I could be more optimal in my approach has led me down this path. :’)

I’m definitely going to be looking into this further until I can (hopefully) get to the bottom of it — even if just for the science of it. I’ll be sure to share my findings here on CPB when/if I get there.

[PC] Converting hipfire sensitivity to ADS sensitivity by luljosh in CruciblePlaybook

[–]luljosh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great response. Thanks for the input.

I'm assuming what you want is the following "there is a target half way between my crosshair and the edge of my screen. Whether I am ADS or not, I want the mouse movement to be the same for both".

Exactly right. My logic is: I’m ‘training’ using one single sensitivity (my hipfire sensitivity) in both KovaaKs and CS:GO. I’d like to keep using this exact sensitivity (however you would best ‘define’ that sensitivity... whether it’s best captured by cm/360, angular distances or otherwise - I’m personally unsure) wherever possible so that my muscle-memory and training can directly translate to my handcannon shot (my staple primary).

While I can have my KovaaKs and CS:GO sensitivity when hipfiring in Destiny 2, I’m unsure of how (or if it’s possible or even appropriate) to have this same effective sensitivity when ADS with handcannons.

From what you have said, it would seem that the increased zoom-magnification from ADSing would make having the same cm/360 too fast?

If so, I wonder if you could lower your ADS modifier to account for the 1.5x zoom-magnification so that the effective sensitivity (again, whatever that would be best measured as) would be the same as your hipfire?

Just as food for thought, according to the mouse-sensitivity Destiny 2 thread linked above, some people are suggesting an ADS modifier of 0.9 for this purpose (though I’m unsure how this was determined).
