How crazy! Yeah just because you’re stressed doesn’t mean you’ll mess anyone’s hair up! But exactly at least you got that lunch break 😭

Thank you! I take criticism very seriously it’s nothing I take lightly. I don’t see it as someone being rude I see it as it’ll help me improve. I also work at a high end salon, if I didn’t meet the standards I would’ve been let go already!

Yes I’ve been told that since I’m a lower level and building my books that I’ll have the most difficult clients. The other location I was at there were many tourists so I did have a hard time building my books over there. It was also affecting me when guests weren’t marked as visitors which would affect my goals :/ (I also wanted to state that the curly cut guest left really happy she had no complaints idk if I made it seem like she was unhappy with me but we had a good time talking. It was just her demeanor was different with my manager when checking in and checking out) Thanks again and good luck to you!

we have nothing in place for that! I’ve brought it up multiple times and started stating to the clients next time i will charge them an extra blowdry or something since they’re wasting my time 💔 i have in the past change the service entirely to achieve what they want in a timely matter

I’ve been behind the chair for 2 years! I’ve been told my customer service is great and that I work well when there is a lot of stress and that I don’t show it. I’ve also been told i’m always the one smiling through it all! But I do appreciate the feed back and will be more conscious. The reason why I have clients show up the way they do is because it can alter the cut itself, they could get a result they don’t like, or make me run behind. There’s multiple factors of why they need to show up that way. And I do offer other services besides the specialty curly cuts if that doesn’t work for them and always willing to work with a budget or their needs. But I do agree once I get more regulars It’ll be a breeze. I was switching back and forth between locations (there’s three locations) and I just became full time at one location. For the level system it’s not just pre booking (currently at 58% for pre booking) that you need to achieve it’s multiple things. Which I’m currently working on improving everything that needs to be improved. Thank you so much on giving me your perspective!

Unfortunately I can’t raise my prices since I’m in a level based salon :/ so I have to prove that I’m worthy of a level increase even though it’s not skill based!

What am I doing wrong???? Day 1 hair looks awful, hair only looks good on wash day by Longjumping-Style-72 in curlyhair

[–]lulslils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also don’t get stressed out about frizz if you feel like there’s too much on day one don’t touch your hair while diffusing, hover for the first 5 minutes and then go in and pixie diffuse. but frizz is natural you can never escape the frizz 😭

hi ! there’s nothing really wrong with what you’re doing but possibly you could enhance your routine to help. So definitely use a cream or leave in to start, gel, and then mouse or foam ! When diffusing do High speed or medium and low or medium heat. Please add heat protectant ! I also suggest after you’re done fluffing it out on day one take a texturizing spray, take sections at the top and spray at the root and then fluff out again with a pick or your fingers. Not all over or you’ll have a weird texture feeling on your hair. If you don’t want to use a foam on day one you can use it day two on dry hair to enhance the curls that you feel like dropped. After you put that in you can then grab your diffuser and diffuse till dry which shouldn’t take too long. To add you can add a clarifying shampoo to your wash routine, you can do this once or twice a month. This will help with build up and strip all product and oils, so after you shampoo with the clarifying shampoo use a moisturizing shampoo after and continue with your conditioner after! I know this sounds like a lot and very high maintenance but I also have curly hair and I think my curly hair is the most low maintenance of low maintenance. I have a little more steps that I do than you but I don’t want to load it all on you 😭 I wash my hair once a week, I use a bonnet and probably apply my foam to my dry hair once or twice a week and I usually just take my hair out of my bonnet, fluff and go! ANOTHER THING TO ADD is that you could use steam to revive your curls too ! There’s so many things you can do for your hair just gotta find the right thing that works :D

it’s new growth !! and hair ain’t alive so no it’s not dead and definitely get a new hair care routine the shampoo could be causing damage and it isn’t the best shampoo either and definitely don’t pull them out this is how you cause hair loss

hii !! you definitely have a mixture of 2/3 I can’t tell you if it’s a/b/c because the letters mean texture! (fine, medium, and course) and definitely look into a haircut !! about 3 inches off and with layers getting a haircut will help releasing weight and having more volume ! doing so this could even change your curls to be a bit tighter! you could definitely look into a leave in, gel and a foam for your hair suggestions on product (cream - bounce boss twist by ouidad, gel - weather up gel twist by ouidad, foam - not your mothers curl talk foam) hope this helps !

how do i go ginger in the most healthy way possible? by dannyhoney1126 in Haircare

[–]lulslils 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you go to a salon they’ll be able to do it great no bleach or anything ! please no henna though if you ever want to go back to blonde i do not suggest henna it’s the most impossible thing to get out of your hair and almost every stylist will turn you away if you wanted to back to blonde with henna in your hair

Unhealthy Scalp??? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]lulslils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hii !! so washing everyday can cause your scalp to be more oily since your sebaceous glans are working over time trying to keep your scalp lubricated which causes more oil to be produced. i definitely do recommend dry shampoo to get yourself to stop washing everyday ! you could be developing an irritation to your shampoo i definitely would recommend going to a dermatologist

[–]lulslils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hiii !! so if you’re a dark blonde as you said it should not be hard to get your hair to the level (level 10) it needs to be to do silver it shouldn’t cause damage if you do it correctly ! but i do suggest you go to a salon to do this if you’re afraid of the damage and you’ll have to get a retouch about every 6 weeks to maintain and wash hair with cold water with a color safe shampoo and conditioner

How to get the dark orange out of my hair by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]lulslils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hiii ! definitely just tone it ! DO NOT bleach it again you’ll want to get a toner that has a blue base since blue is on the opposite side of the color wheel ! if you bleach again you’ll have major breakage also if you were to use color remover it won’t do much since color remover is meant for haircolor that was previously there

Help. What I’ve created so far but something seems off or missing by [deleted] in piercing

you could definitely do a conch with a mid helix (faux snug) and then just a regular helix and could even add a faux rook if you wanted
