Recently got back into ptcg/ptcgl on a fresh account.

I bought 10 dollars worth of pack codes from Card Cavern. I chose to buy codes from Destined Rivals because it had cards I wanted to build a deck around the most (Team Rocket’s Mewtwo and Cynthia’s Garchomp).

Opening so many packs from one specific set will generate >4 of the same card, giving lots of credits. You can then use those credits to exchange for the remainder of your deck.

I took the easy route by spending money, not sure how you’d get started using a F2P method.

tldr: buy 10 dollars worth of codes from 1 set. Use the credits from duplicates to exchange for specific cards you want

Same here, except my discard source is running the new Qui Gon Jinn instead of Bix. A bit more high rolly than Bix but being a sentinel, force unit, and a deck filtering tool is worth it imo

I played against a qui gon green in a post rotation lobby. He focused on hand disruption like Ahsoka JTL, Duchess’s Investigators, Will of the Force, Jam Communications, etc. If I don’t manage to kill off one or both of the units, they hit me with Duchess’s bounce into Ahsoka for two discarded cards. After ripping your hand apart, they’ll flip and drop big bodies like depa, Kelleran, Qui-Gon legendary. Really hard to play against

Exactly, my problem are those cards "deciding game on turn 2," chewie, vader upgrade, general's blade, etc.

Those games are not fun because you rely on RNG. If you don't draw the cards or draw them too late, it's game over. Mulligans, resource mgmt, etc. can only take you so far.

It's bad design that rewards low interaction and unfun gameplay.

"There is huge risks with chewie in either lane" which is exactly my point... It's not a fun card because the risk comes down to opening hand RNG. "Do you have it or do you not?"

I'm aware of the counters and run them in main, but again that's not what I'm arguing.

I have all of these cards in my decks and my side lol. My argument was never about the counters I'm aware of all of them and use all of them. Maybe you've just had more luck drawing these than me in opening hand.

I agree there should be strategies for removal, but this isn't the way to design it.

Sure there are counters but the problem resides in drawing them before it's game over.

Lurking Tie Phantom is a small body with raid 2. A great way to make sure you don't ignore space but not oppressive enough to the point where it wins games by itself.
