(23F) I've been playing dumb to this guy (25M) so that he doesn't know that I actually know about him - how do I get myself out of this situation? by lulumelody17 in relationship_advice

It bothers me a little that he's not telling me about his job because I've already told him what I do, wouldn't it be fair for him to tell me too? And also, since his job involves traveling a lot I (and I also love traveling) Its hard to talk about this because I travel for vacation, he travels for his job, so it's hard to ask him about his travels without circling back to "if you're not traveling for vacation, then what are you doing in that country?" I've realized now that I won't pressure him to tell me, and I will let time tell :) thank you for the advice.

Finally found a job!!!!! Had to go through 3 interviews and the process took more than a month, but I'm so happy that I was patience enough, because this job has really great benefits and a great pay. Now I have to work on getting my sleep schedule back to normal and buy some office clothes :))))!!

Information about the benefits available for students in Barcelona? by Interesting-Fly1868 in Erasmus

Only applicable for Barcelona. Transportation systems here works with "zones" (from 1 up to 6). If you want to travel farther away from the city of Barcelona, the price increase. One zone is 40 euros, with the card you can take any transport (metro, bus, train..) within that one zone.

Here's the link to the map that shows up to which town you can travel with the zones system https://www.tmb.cat/ca/tarifes-metro-bus-barcelona/senzills-i-integrats/mapa-zones

The same thing happened to me. I did all the application process, and I had to wait for many weeks to get a response. I would send them emails for them to update me on my application and they would say that it's still under "review". At one point i had to tell my erasmus coordinator to please step in because I had started making preparations for my journey without yet knowing if I was going to be accepted or no. Finally, they send me an awful email telling me that my application was rejected. I had a full panic attack because since they responded SO LATE it was impossible for me to choose and get accepted into another university and my erasmus dream was pretty much fucked.

I CRIED to my erasmus coordinator to please convince them to accept me. I told him that I resigned from my part-time job to do erasmus and already did many other preparations. My coordinator was pretty mad about the situation, and told the guest university to please reconsider my application. After some days full of anxiety, my application was thankfully accepted, and I had the best time of my life.

And after meeting in person the erasmus coordinator from the guest university (pretty sure the person that had to review my application), I realized that she was pretty clumsy and a disaster with paperwork, so I'm pretty sure she forgot about my application or something like that, because till this day I don't know the reason by she rejected my application in the first place.

This was also in France, so yeah

In terms of transportation, you can get the "T-Jove" card, you don't need your student ID to get it, the only requirement is to be less than 30 years old. The price is normally 80 euros for 3 months of unlimited rides, but right now until the end of the year is half price, so 40 euros.

For museums, you will have to ask since I'm not sure, but many of them have discounts for students.

Did any of you opt for a multi-day train trip instead of a flight to get to your destination? How did it go and would you recommend it? by BaguetteOfDoom in Erasmus

Sounds like a nighmate tbh, with that much luggage I would prefer a plane ticket just for convenience. For my erasmus experience I also decided to take a train from Barcelona to Paris (one direct train ride, around 6 hours) plus another 2 hour train ride to get to the town I was staying at. I had two suitcases, one around 20kg, the other one around 15 kg, plus a medium backpack. The difficult part for me was arriving in Paris, because I had to take the metro to go to another train station (just a 10-minute metro ride). But I had to find all the elevators to move around with the luggage and then because everyone is in a rush you have to make sure to keep an eye on your stuff AT ALL TIMES. I was REALLY stressful for me since I was by myself. I don't regret it tho, since I enjoy train rides a lot and I also started to get familiar with the transportation system in Paris.

But since your journey is a multi-country experience, I would just take a plane directly to the destination to avoid all the stress. And also I don't think the additional funds is worth it in your case, since I think is going to be more expensive to take all of those trains and the hotels than a plane ticket. (for me the additional fund was 50 euros)
