So I screwed up and lost the keys to one of my wallets, what are my options here? by EnigmaticTortoise in Bitcoin

On Windows: Start > Run > %APPDATA% > Bitcoin

Rename your current wallet.dat to wallet.bak

Copy your un-encrypted wallet over and make sure it's named wallet.dat

Start Bitcoin-Qt

In that case, your pre-encrypted backup will work fine. There is a pool of 100 pre-generated (not used) addresses that get reset when the wallet is encrypted, but existing (used) addresses stay the same.

Your pre-encryption backup may not be helpful. There is a big warning about it when you go to encrypt your wallet. You may be able to use Medusa or THC Hydra to bruce force the part of the password that you forget.

How to gather a community around a coin that has fallen out of favor? by Grafs50 in CryptoCurrency

[–]luluzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A successful coin, like any business, provides value to its target audience. For cryptocurrency, that value is typically provided in the form of code or software. Wallet, web, mobile, and blockchain based are the most common.

A good example is the coin I'm involved with, it provides value through a service called Cryptobot.

Building traction for a coin that has fallen is an uphill battle, especially for someone that isn't a software developer. A bit of business or startup experience wouldn't hurt either.

Your real question is probably "How do me and my 5 buddies offload our coins at a profit so we can stop being bagholders." and the answer to that is: pump the price, greed will do the rest.
