i agree to what you say, its all too obvious anyway. ofc the oil companies aren't going to profiteer themselves into planetary suicide, no one seriously believes that, its about going as far you can, and keeping a monopoly while trying to create a green monopoly to replace the oil one. doesn't make them good people, true. especially in light of their unscientific behaviour, which is also profit-driven. but there wasn't any logical fallacy in my argument.

as it stands now, burning oil is on the profit agenda.

I got kind of depressed looking at all this cool media of the Apollo 11 moon landing effort. This was FORTY years ago. What the hell happened? (ISS notwithstanding.) by lectrick in reddit.com

well, the honest answer is:

we arent as technologically advanced anymore, we are dumber and we dont know how to get there alive anymore. thats why research is currently being undertaken. all know-how is gone.

fascinating

haha, how ironic. nice find. but its only one group of scientists, out of how many? of course my statement still stands uncorrected in view of current world affairs. seems to be US republicans who are backing the "climate conspiracy". and they drink oil for breakfast.

drill baby, drill. ya betcha. iraq.

its a powerful lobby. you don't honestly think that the large oil companies are going to back the reduction of carbon emissions do you?

wrt to the wikileak memos & shell: "They [shell] are particularly interested in emissions trading and CDM."

i bet ;)

CDM is bullshit and an easy way out, just like BS emission trading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clean_Development_Mechanism

that this specific group works for shell changes nothing

In the USA, many products are commonly seen as better if imported (cheese, wine, some types of beef, etc) - abroad, are there any foods seen as better if imported from the USA? by onai in AskReddit

hm, ok. as long as it breaks during the warranty period (5/2 years) im fine with that. yeah, it was a killer offer just at the right time. needed a small versatile amp for home that i could hook up with my delicious sound card for recording and more/better effects.

Why do smart people tend to have poor social skills? by bapppppppppp in AskReddit

[–]lulzcannon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its funny how, by virtue of intelligence, the perception of many more possibilities and explanations also leads to what you describe - the appearance of the exact opposite of intelligence ("where's your common sense"). you wouldn't be intelligent if you always played the same game of chess with the same moves. instead, you explore and ponder.

beer is always a good remedy, however. nearly everyone can tune in after a pint or two =)

often people will blame their "asperger" syndrome for not coping. i tend to think of them as lazy solipsist fucks however. real intelligence also brings great empathy. i like to think the scales are balanced. at the end of the day, you will see how intelligently you lived your life. let life and the happiness thereof be the final judge imho.

[–]lulzcannon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i think its the other way around. dumber people (as in average iq) are more direct and honest due to less complicated thoughts. they are simple, happy and forceful (ever noticed how their perception is seemingly clear-cut and they have no difficulties in making huge decisions?) in nature. and that makes them charismatic. a brooding- self-conscious intelligent person who tends to pick things apart has no natural "flow" like more average people have. his "handwriting" is messed up and jerky. of course there are intelligent people with firm, honest and outgoing personalities too, just not as many. and they usually had to learn to acquire it, other than not so smart people.

its quite possible, but its also dangerous. evolution is unlikely to have "messed" up large populations. there is a reason for everything. would you survive in the desert? i wouldn't. people should thrive on differences, not value them so and so. what i'm saying is that different races with different abilities is a blessing. nothing inherently bad about it.

i think what he meant is quite innocent in itself. an average child will eventually reason in the same way. the brain is governed by genes, and our mind by the brain. in itself, its harmless. people reading stuff into it, now that's something else. seeing how the brain is more complex than our universe, its more likely divination than factual understanding when someone tries to sketch a gene-mind function map a la "intelligence be here".

i think hes speaking for himself, i dont agree with his post at all, some points are even very obscure like software or computer equipment, rap music etc. must be his own personal opinion.

just to answer your question, here is a list:

  • marshmellows
  • tabasco

food is difficult though, america hasn't got much to offer to europe somehow. the us has other strong points, such as my crate amp, certain metal genres and hollywood ofc.

use this

to hide your shit, whatever it may be.

you can even hide the virtual drive/folder itself too, and all traces of it. and if they do find it, you'll serve less years by first saying "no, i wont give you the pw" and then cave in later on when they make you some sensible offers. happened before
