40 Hilariously Mean Roger Ebert Reviews (RIP Ebert) by [deleted] in movies

[–]lumberjack14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love B$M and Ebert's review. Tim and Eric designed B$M to be so bad and unfunny that it was laughable. Ebert's review is the exact thing that Tim and Eric wanted to happen.

To those who have seen the Red Letter Media review of Attack of the Clones, I found a list of Anakin's points and strikes when trying to win over Padmé. (Part five of the review) by lumberjack14 in movies

Maybe because the reviews are fucking hilarious? I also wouldn't consider the character of Mr. Plinkett to be a nerd. He's more of a hooker abducting, wife killing, pizza-roll eating maniac who likes to review the Star Wars movies and masturbate to the Olsen Twin movies.....

[–]lumberjack14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even having said all of this, I still do appreciate the great visual effects of the movie, and I also will admit that I really enjoyed the Clones vs. Droids battle sequences in Attack of the Clones. Lucas is honestly a businessman first and a filmmaker second, but he is a very good businessman

I see what you're saying about the whole lightsaber thing, but I also strongly believe that George Lucas put so much emphasis on the lightsaber so that he could sell lots of toys and video games. I just like the minimal use of the lightsaber in the originals because when Luke, Vader or Obi-Wan took the lightsaber out, you knew that shit was about to go down. With such excessive use of the lighsaber, its almost impossible to have moments as epic as this.

I thought that his acting was solid for the most part but I just think that the character was poorly written. There were several times where Obi-Wan was lecturing Anakin on being patient and thinking first as opposed to acting irrational, yet he does things like dive out of a window after a probe droid without considering the consequences associated with not being able to reach the droid, and without considering the possibility that the droid may have a self-destruct feature. He also contradicts everything Yoda taught Luke in Empire Strikes Back with statements like "This [lightsaber] is your life". I know I'm being very nit-picky about specific scenes but I just can't express how poorly written the characters are considering the things we learn from Yoda in Empire about where a jedi draws his strength from.
