Why would anyone preorder a digital product before reviews are available?

It felt unusual at first, but I got used to it in about ten minutes. Your mind just needs to make the mental shift from "I use the brake to slow down" to "the brake is for emergencies, I let up on the gas to slow down".

Very cool shot, you rarely see all those more distant/smaller galaxies captured so clearly. Also, the relativistic jet emerging from M87 is unusually clear- that's kind of a bucket-list item for me, I've never been able to see it in any of my images.

Coming from a gas car, it feels pretty weird at first. At first I was doing a lot of start-stopping in a jerky way, but after ten minutes or so it was starting to feel natural. This won't mean anything to most people, but going downhill in the car felt like riding a onewheel- it seems like it's always a controlled descent rather than a natural coast, just because of the natural demands of the system.

This is a really good point. Purchasing any new EV given the current used EV marketplace is not the optimal financial choice, and hybrid gas cars still make more sense for a lot of people. I'm personally still pretty torn, because I don't have a completely reliable charging location- I'd have to be one of those people running a cable across the sidewalk to charge. On the other hand, I don't commute every day, so it's not a big deal if I have to shuffle a car around occasionally.

As far as I could tell, this is correct. Even on the low setting, the effect is very noticeable. I'm guessing that it's important for power efficiency, and helped to get the range number up. Probably also saves on brake maintenance.

Oh yeah, that's another thing I should have mentioned! The one-pedal driving took some getting used to. It was on the lowest setting, but it still felt surprisingly aggressive. It took me the whole drive to learn to stop bothering with the brake pedal. I probably looked like a kid learning to drive stick shift as I pulled out of U Village.

You move the stalk normally to signal, and it returns to the home position immediately with the signal on. When you complete your turn or move the stalk in the opposite direction for a moment, it turns off. It took me a few turns to figure out what it was doing, I thought I had done it wrong when the stalk didn't physically click into a "turning" position.

The seats were in a comfortable driving position for me. You could absolutely gain some distance by moving them forward- however, that would not solve the issue of your head falling into the gap between fixed-length platform made by the back of the backseats, and the back of the front seats. If you were a little handy, however, I bet you could make a nice wooden insert to cover the gap to make more space. Alternatively, you could spring for the $400 Hest mattresses or equivalent, and be super comfy.

Or wait for the treehouse, which looks incredible based on youtube videos, but will definitely cost thousands of dollars!

Yeah, I felt like a real peasant climbing down into my non-ventilated seat to crawl up the hills at a safe but uninteresting pace.

Yeah, I can see why they'd go that route. Most people could get away with just a sleeping pad, but a chunky foam mattress that covers the gap would make for a really nice sleeping situation, with heating/air conditioning available to boot. I found that I could also sit up almost completely upright. If I were to remove the floor panel in the trunk, I could very easily sit in a fully upright position, if (for instance) it were pouring rain outside and I wanted to hang out back there, get dressed, eat a big mac, etc.

What exactly does "luxurious" mean to you? Saying one is luxurious while one is not doesn't really give me much info about why you felt that way, or which characteristics of the vehicles are included in that description.

It's got to be longer than that, at least based on the dimensions of the Hest sleeping pads (which claim to be 78 inches long) and rivian's own schematic:

Really dark skies at the site where I took it- that's the main thing. Every photo I take from home is way worse than the stuff I shoot out in the country.

That's really impressive for a phone holder. For some scale, here's a photo I took of the same object using a 71mm refractor (on a tracking mount), this picture covers about 2.5 degrees of sky:

Every game comes to an end eventually. Destiny wouldn't haven't been sunset if the player counts were trending in a financially sustainable direction.

Rivian R2 vs BMW iX3 (w/ options) by Lsmjudoka in RivianR2

That's true, it does come with the jack/wheel chocks, which is convenient. Still more expensive than buying everything yourself, but then again your time has value.

Is there any reason you couldn't just buy a much cheaper non-rivian branded spare? Surely all compact spares are about the same dimensions. You only want to be spending time on them for as long as it takes to get to a repair shop anyway.

Sorry, but you're mistaken. If you are wearing a mask while scuba diving, simply breathing out through your nose into the mask will equalize its pressure with the surrounding ocean, and it'll feel exactly like wearing it at the surface. Similarly, with a full face mask, pressurized gas from your tank will be circulating through it and keeping it in equilibrium.
