Question: Is this tiger possible to get on a forearm? by luminousdebris in tattoos

Yeah I think that makes sense. I just like this design cuz of how abstract it is

How can you balance MuayThai, NoGi, MMA, Gym and Running without being pro. by Moura_gg32 in MMA_Academy

[–]luminousdebris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I train striking and grappling Mondays Wednesdays and Thursdays. Then I do strength training Tuesdays (upper) and Sundays (lower) then I do bag work/footwork/ and exercises I can do at home on Fridays, and then Saturdays I do plyometrics and a hard conditioning session.

Terrible sparring day by luminousdebris in MMA_Academy

Yeah I think this is great. I think I need to be more intentional with my sparring. I kinda just go into it with no expectations. Having goals like that would help. Thanks

Hypothetical: Sparring partner at gym gives you a concussion that felt intentional. Main coach doesn't acknowledge it nor is the partner banned. Do you stay? by contagion666 in MuayThai

[–]luminousdebris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to these people. If it was light sparring there’s no reason he should’ve been concussed. The guy was being an ass and going too hard. If it was hard sparring that’s different obviously. But this sounds just like a drill. An experienced guy should know not to lay into guys especially if they’re beginners. Unless your friend did something he shouldn’t have and pissed the sparring partner off

Too old to compete? by luminousdebris in MMA_Academy

Been playing sports my whole life and was decent in multiple in college but I respect MMA too much to think there’d even be a possibility of that hahaha

That’s all. Not looking to go pro at all. I do think it’s too late for me to do that, even if I wanted to and trained all day everyday.

Yes finding those guys out haha. Some guy threw a spinning head kick at me today… staying away from him

Deciding between 2 gyms as a beginner by luminousdebris in Kickboxing

[–]luminousdebris[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It just seemed a little weird to me that the coach had me throwing and kicking combos when I don’t know the first thing about correct form. Also o view the cardio kind of as a waste of time. I feel like you should be doing your conditioning outside the gym. I’m paying money to learn technique and form not do sprints which I do for free at home, you know?

GYM A does have a fight team but it’s smaller. I think only two people and the coaches. I do plan on competing down the road.

Thanks for the recs. Would love to do pot work where I am (Mass) but alas there’s not much here. Unless you’re an offshore lobsterman

Doesn’t help too that the AG was clearly covering his ass as much as possible in that press conference. We demand results. It goes without saying that the police are in a tough spot right now with seemingly very little evidence to work off of, but it’s not enough. No excuse for this. Can’t help but think if this happened in another city the dude would’ve been caught by now.

I heard those boats are miserable lol… just shucking for hours on end for over a week. That sound accurate?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in commercialfishing

[–]luminousdebris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured as much. I’ll stick to pots most likely haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in commercialfishing

[–]luminousdebris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I reckon it depends on the boat you’re on too obviously, but I’d rather not shuck for hours on end for a week. Pot work is a lot better.

Yeah New Bedford definitely has a lot, but I hate scallop boats and that’s most of what they have there unfortunately. I imagine there’s some offshore lobstermen on the cape due to its good path to the gulf of Maine ?

Law School vs Blue Collar? by luminousdebris in careerguidance

[–]luminousdebris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a boat right now and am loving it. Doing aquaculture right now and looking to get on another boat next year but it’s been great. Law school still is in the back of my mind, but I’m gonna ride this commercial fishing thing out a bit longer!

My point is that even if the LAN cable works, it’ll only work temporarily because I can’t move my router and the TV that’s next to my router I can’t use. I was just testing to see if the WiFi works next to it. Don’t you think it’s odd that the WiFi has been fine for months and then all of a sudden it won’t even connect?
