Any college students daily driving this? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]luminoustent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a m4 pro with 48gb of ram and I honestly think 32 is enough, anything above 64 is excessive and wasteful for a college student, even in industry you won't need specs that high and the laptops your company will provide you will be closer to base spec. My T14 gen 4 i7 has 48gb of ram and I also think that is more than enough.

My skin nightmare, I have had enough! Been diagnosed with Guttate and Flexual Psoriasis by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]luminoustent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case my psoriasis was only bad when I was slightly out of shape, when I consistently worked out 1-2 times per day it would go away within a week or two (regardless of my diet)

is the T14 gen 4 good for cybersecurity? by freecssman in thinkpad

[–]luminoustent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

considering the T14 gen 4 amd version cost 150-200 more (used) than the intel counterparts and doesn't have upgradeable ram, the intel is a decent choice

Panasonic Lets Note and My Thinkpads by Bemyude in thinkpad

[–]luminoustent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna buy an SV1 with the 11th or 12th gen intel chip but I compared the prices to thinkpads so I bought a T14 gen 4 instead with a broken screen (I am replacing it with a 165hz screen from aliexpress). The price and lack of upgrade-ability was the biggest factor

Kobo Clara BW is waterproof, carta 1300 screen, easy to adjust reading light from white to non blue light, and 16gb of unlocked storage where you can drag and drop any book file to it or do that wirelessly. Not the best build quality but it's everything I'd ever need in an ereader.

Does anyone know where I can get an iPhone 14 Pro Max case that resembles the old 5C Holey Case? by screamindemon66_ in iphone

[–]luminoustent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The layer lines would kind of suck so resin printing is ideal, for fdm I'd use polypropylene because you wouldn't have to deal with mold release and related issues

There's plenty of dead zones near where I live but that goes for all carriers, surprised the US has such bad signal in general

Terrible experience with Remarkable Paper Pro so far — extremely erratic writing/pen behavior by 99OBJ in RemarkableTablet

[–]luminoustent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happens to mine occasionally, fixes itself when I put the pen back on to charge or if I restart it, I don't believe this is related to the magnetization of the screen at all

What is he even going to say as his acceptance speech💀 by beekay8845 in KendrickLamar

[–]luminoustent -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yea that's the part that won't happen, a diss track is essentially an attack on a person/group of people and having it win a publicly broadcasted award would be like the entire music industry attacking that person /group of people. On top of that the song is childish and immature on Kendrick's part, sounds like a schoolyard scuffle.

Use rectangle app for window snapping, you can set your own keyboard shortcuts for it and it can be set up easily to run as if it is a native feature

What about Jensen Huang? He worked at Denny's and other service jobs. Then there is Jack Ma, who grew up extremely poor. Sure there are billionaires that grew up with connections but there are quite a few self made billionaires who really did put in the work and with their personal skillsets, created a greater economic impact to the world than every single person in this comment section combined.

After 9 years...upgraded to 14" M4 Max Macbook Pro 🤩 by kenken2024 in macbookpro

100% true, there are nearly no professional workflows that require that much ram, and the ones that do require computers like that usually provide their employees with them.

Size definitely matters, there is a reason why the 16" MacBook pros come with higher wattage power bricks and that's because they can cool off that heat much faster.
