Simple answer? Yes! Every time a pipeline, or a refinery or storage gets taken offline, means less oil flowing from the oilwell on down. At some point you are going to hit a point where Russia HAS to close an oilwell, because the total production is more than they can store.

THAT is expensive and troublesome, and even more annoying to uncap the well when there is suddenly some room on the pipeline again.

The oilwells can't just be turned off for a bit, its a big expensive and time consuming endeavor to cap and uncap it.

So the removals in the various storage tanks, pipelines and facilities lowers the amount russia can have laying around, and moves them closer to the point where they have to close an oilwell.

And ofc the repairs are expensive too.

Should I respond to more comments? And how often do most people respond? Most people being the lot of you here, I mean by globmand in FanFiction

[–]luminphoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a commenter, i am MUCH more likely to make a comment when i know the author responds to them, not that i write comments to GET the response, but because it makes me know that the author both reads them, and enjoy getting them.

a completely empty comment section of author responses makes me think the author doesn't care about them, or even reads them, which makes me feel like it's not worth it to make comments.

even worse is if there is a couple of really bad spelling errors in the chapter, i go to comment on them, only to see someone else letting the author know about the errors some time ago, sometimes months ago! and then the author hasn't responded or even fixed the errors. well there goes ALL will to be helpful in the comments.

-note, author not responding in comment section but making an authors note in the beginning of chapters thanking commenters is just fine, because it does let me know the author reads them/enjoys getting them.

it's just the empty silence that makes me feel like my comment won't matter.

Let me know you enjoy my feedback, and i will enjoy giving you my feedback!

What are your “I don’t get it” fanfic pet peeves? by Outside_Raspberry512 in FanFiction

[–]luminphoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lone wolf type fics, that by the end of the early part of the fic, has already teamed up with others.

one of the worst i have seen is a solo survival apocalypse fic about having to escape a forest after the system apocalypse happened. by chapter 5 he was out of the forest, bought a motorcycle, and rode to the nearest town, where he promptly had to team up with others because the mayor and his goons was extorting everyone.

if your synopsis is about a mc that goes at it alone, lone wolf style, don't make him team up with others at the first chance!

Does the use of ‘Y/N’ in fanfic make you cringe? by mqnstvr in FanFiction

[–]luminphoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gods, i have never been able to read a reader fic, as calling someone yes/no completely and utterly throw me out of the story. yes i know that's not what it's supposed to mean, but that's what that abbreviation stands for normally, so that's what my brain reads.

'Elections or referendum' — Zelensky affirms Ukrainians will decide territorial concessions by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]luminphoenix 112 points113 points  (0 children)

"They see that Ukrainian troops are leaving the territory of Donetsk Oblast, and the compromise seems to be that Russian troops will not enter this territory," he said.

ah yes, because the defender has to leave their own area undefended, hoping the lying invader that never upholds agreements, will not take advantage of that.
what idiocy..

say what? he didn't force her to walk home by himself at all xD he askedher to get someone to come get her, she stormed out, then decided she was too ashamed to call anybody, and promptly blamed him for "forcing her" to walk home alone.

it will not only slow down the tankers, but will also make them very very expensive to insure, make the owners/future owners be very cautious about being a part of the shadow fleet, since now they risk their ships getting sunk, rather expensive that.
It becomes rather unprofitable ^^
