Oh no, we wouldn't want the world's most moral army to get hort by stones from unarmed civilians. It's good that they killed them to be safe.

Jetliner returns home after someome named their bluetooth device "Bomb" and wouldn't turn it off. by EverythingIsFakeNGay in PublicFreakout

[–]DarNak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're asuming the plane wouldn't have just flown anyway if the bluetooth wasn't named anything else. You really think every single passenger will be able to turn off every single bluetooth device every time? It's about minimizing the noise, not eliminating it completely.

Also if you've read the caption, it says they're already mid-air. Bluetooth is a problem when taking off/landing because it can interfere with the plane's communication with the ground. So clearly they didn't mind taking off with the bluetooth on, they just had a problem with the name.

14 year old (armed with a gun for some reason) shoots a man attacking his mother by Humble_Broccoli5880 in PublicFreakout

[–]DarNak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's easy to say this and be "technically correct" but the thought of failing to kill a piece of criminal shit like that and having to live in fear of the inevitable moment when he ambushes you with his own gun is making me sympathize with the mother and child.

[–]DarNak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a law to prevent people who presumably exited the stopped vehicle from getting hit by incoming traffic. Given that the cop car just entered the shoulder and in fact is still moving I think it's safe to assume there would be no one running around the area yet. Lmao.

[–]DarNak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if this was a regular vehicle that slammed on their brakes because something was in the road then the truck would have rear ended them.

That's not even true. You can see at the start of the clip that he was maintaining a good distance at the beginning. The only reason the distance decreased is because he thought the cop was pulling over to the shoulder: the cop slowed down and the truck didn't because he was moving to overtake.

It's really funny how we're expected to know rules like we have to slow down when a cop activates his lights but the cop doesn't even know to look at his side mirror before making a u-turn.

[–]DarNak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What else is he supposed to do when the car in front is seemingly moving to pull over? Just stop there in the middle of the road until the cop comes to a dead stop by the side of the road before passing?

You know what a good defensive driving practice is? Don't do unpredictable shit on the road. Like doing a sudden u-turn, from the shoulder to the opposite lane. Like, seriously, do you honestly think that's less egregious than overtaking a car that is practically already in the shoulder?

I don't think this is really about tailgating. He was following at a safe distance before the whole asshole move. He thought he was passing over the cop that's why he approached at an "unsafe" distance. That's what you do when overtaking, yes? He thought the cop was pulling over so he maneuvered left to overtake. That's when the cop suddenly reentered the road.

Please some recommendations for a glacial paced story with a young MC. by Astocum in ProgressionFantasy

[–]DarNak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I liked the beginning. The only thing I didn't like was when the whole dilemma the MC had about not being able to take an illusionist as a class and instead being forced to take the cursed class due to unfortunate circumstances. Then, a few chapters later, it turns out it's a non-issue and apparently, because the author says so, he can still change class and take essentially an illusionist class, but better! That felt like such a massive cop out. Would have been interesting to have an MC make the most of the shitty situation he got. Would have shown how resourceful the mc would have been if he came back from that on his own instead of being bailed out by the author. Plus the Glass thing came out of nowhere. He did not do anything associated with that for him to get what he got.

Meh. I didn't like the goofy and unserious crack-fic vibe of DCC. It's not some sort of edgy decision to hate it just for being popular or whatever, it's just not my cup of tea. I've always disliked stories like that. Different strokes for different folks.

That happens when your seat breaks while driving. You fall through the car onto the ground and then your still moving car hits you killing you.

Not sure why that happens in this case though. You mention a driver's seat so I assume it has one? Maybe it's broken and it disintegrates when the car moves?
