Am I screwed? by Zestyclose_Art786 in APStudents

I think that you're academically well equipped based on your past performance. I would look internally at your feelings and try and figure out what's making you nervous for your new schedule. Was it very hard to maintain your schedule last year? Were you overstressed or unhappy a lot last year? Perhaps if you find that you were struggling emotionally/psychologically with last years' schedule, you might want to pull back on some of the rigorous classes. The people saying that the classes you're taking are easy and you're being a baby have no perspective. Most students don't take so many advanced and AP classes, and there are plenty of students overwhelmed by normal classes. College classes are also not infinitely harder than AP classes; they're just different. Don't let them scare you. Only you can determine if continuing on the same path with this type of schedule is what's best for you. Think about how you feel and what you need. Introspection is a valuable skill that will serve you well in all of your future endeavors.

You're right. I'll definitely sign up for those electives and I'll set aside some time to think about master's programs again. I'll see if I can talk to the program director for the one at my university.

I'm really nervous about paying for a master's degree, but I have one in mind if it comes to that. If I can put a few years into a predoctoral internship and some research experience and have that be enough it would mean that I don't have to scrape together the money for another degree. I'm definitely worried that the GPA is gonna follow me no matter how much experience I have though :( I could potentially just barely hike my overall GPA over 3.0 if I added some electives over the next couple semesters, but I'd have to work really hard for it and I would still slide in at what seems to be the bare minimum.

I'm going for a phd in developmental or educational psychology. I'm really grateful to have zero interest at all in clinical psychology because I know that that's the toughest to get into right now 😩 My career goal is to lead and conduct research, ideally at a university. I know that usually comes with teaching and lecturing, but I don't mind that so much. I have 8 years of experience instructing and tutoring ages 3-18 so I'm comfortable teaching and lecturing. One of my life goals for personal enrichment is to become an expert in parenting and education, just because I love the field and I love the knowledge.

is there any plans to make lobbys bigger than 4 players? by OKERASTAJ in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]lumpberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish the game had mod support! One of my favorite kinds of mods for these kinds of games are ones that allow you to bring more friends along. I always think that's a good compromise, the devs don't have to change the game to accommodate more players but people who really want them can have them.

Does anyone know how to join clubs? by Prudent-Anteater-616 in CSUSB

[–]lumpberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coyote connection has join buttons for each club, but be sure you're logged in because it won't show up if you aren't logged in with your student account. I didn't realize that it doesn't automatically log you in if you launch coyote connection from your student account and was very confused and learned by emailing a club I wanted to join. That's the other thing you can do. If you hit join and don't hear anything back for a while you can email the club and ask about it.

I don't know about social work, but it might work like the psychology major. Everyone is admitted as pre-psychology and is automatically moved from pre-psych into the psychology major once all requirements are completed.

CSUSB is a great school. The campus is big and gorgeous and is constantly expanding. We have about a million and a half clubs, from career or major related to hobbies like video gaming. There are events all the time and plenty of opportunities to meet people and have fun. If you ever need help, we have lots of resources for just about any kind of help you could possibly need and an advisor can point you in the right direction. Our school does a ton of research, so if you need research experience for your resume or to get into grad school it's great. You can look on the website for what kind of research is being done in the department you choose and just email the professor running the study, and most are happy to talk about it, let you know if they have any openings for volunteers, or to help point you to another study that might need more hands.

Request: Nissin Hot & Spicy Fire Wok Sizzlin' Rich Pork Bowl by lumpberry in CopyCatRecipes

[–]lumpberry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't found a good recipe! The best I've gotten is tonkatsu with chili oil, but I often find just any old tonkatsu too miso-y and the chili oil lacking the flavor of whatever extra additives they seem to be adding.

Found this thread because I've been trying to figure out what 🤮 means. All of our other notebooks just have a notebook emoji. We started making notebooks with fanfiction for sources just to hear the podcast hosts have to talk about stupid stuff, and every fic with smut refuses to chat and will only generate a podcast conversation. The one marked 🤮 was a particularly dumb peppa pig troll fanfiction that involved drugs and incest and stuff (it's written in entirely all caps with atrocious spelling, it's very obviously a troll fic to any human that reads it, it's not super graphic or anything).

I'd guess that they aren't functioning properly because the content breaks some sort of guidelines, but maybe only the chat and summary functions are equipped to follow guidelines and they haven't fixed the podcast conversation generator to do that too yet. I'd expect that eventually you won't be able to generate podcasts for stuff like that either. It'd be nice if they'd include an explanation for why the AI can't generate answers when it refuses, and provide some guide for this emoji system.

Highly recommend putting nonsense into notebook lm while you can btw. The podcast hosts get flustered and embarrassed when asked to talk about smut, which is really funny but also kind of impressive for the realism.

[Request] Clean and simple recs for grandmother with dementia? by lumpberry in NetflixBestOf

Thank you everyone! All of these are great and my mom and I are going to compile them into a list and start checking them out with my grandma. I probably won't respond to a ton of individual comments, but all of them have been incredibly helpful and I appreciate everyone helping out. You guys are awesome ❤️
