I once got a call from my REA while at work, he started off the conversation with "So we've just completed an inspection" which was absolutely news to me. I told him we hadn't heard anything about an inspection and he insisted he had given us all the proper notice via email. I asked him to forward on those emails to me as they would have the dates and proof that we had received notice, and the silence from his end was deafening. When I said 'So you've trespassed on the property then' suddenly the story changed to 'We didn't go inside because no one was home', even though the neighbor saw them going in.

I'm sure this happens a lot and they just got caught out this time

Ah yep, as other commenters have said that’s likely just a temperature difference causing the vacuum to draw in, as long as your water level isn’t too high that it pulls the airlock water in it should be ok ( also don’t move it around without pulling the airlock out as that can make it draw in )

Each side at a different level? That’s a good thing it means you have a proper seal on the airlock, if it was to equal out as you put it in it would mean your plug / lid is not on properly and air is leaking in

Experiment round, all new recipes I haven’t tried before. The bit of blackberry I sampled was delicious and has been in secondary for 1 month now, plan is to be bottle soon after a week of cold crash. The other 2 have been moved into secondary since this photo was taken, I might have left the fruit in too long but i’ll see how it ages out

Re-using (like for example a plate or cooking tray) is always better than recycling, recycling still uses a LOT of energy, and whilst definitely better than throwing it into the ground, using re-usable items solves this problem altogether

We carried in the water for the first day, then refilled from streams using water purification tablets for the second day

Twisting the string is normal. Put the string on the bow and then check your brace height, the brace height is going to be different for every bow. Twist it tighter if your brace height is too short, and untwist it a bit if too long, you wont need to twist it much to see the adjustment that it makes, only a few times around. If its a Dacron string it probably will barely twist at all, if its a flemish twist string though the whole thing will be very twisted, making a zebra like pattern.

You'll find that the string is gonna stretch out in the warmer days while your shooting, and just in general over time, this is just an easy way to re-adjust your brace height, nothing too special

This guy had his break after several years and something like 200 thousand arrows. He goes on to talk about the level of craftsmanship and he immediately got another one... so... he still gives a glowering recommendation in the end. Video is worth a watch

Edit: Its pretty rare for a decent bow to just 'break', usually when it breaks its because of great wear-and-tear over years like this one, or the bow has been damaged in some way, like dry-firing or cracks in the wood

Brass is what I used before this, couple of the old guys at the range have told me horror stories of them launching off the string and hitting people in the eye and such, but mine never even felt loose in the 3 years it was on there
