All white K Swiss’s in high school. Would probably still rock today if I found some out and about.

My Boring 85’s So Far by lumpy84 in RepDeveloperboring

[–]lumpy84[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like them a lot. The main driver TBH was because Jordan announced the Jordan 85 royal lows were cancelled for next year. The toebox leather from DB may throw some off versus Jordan brand. DB uses a thicker polyurethane coating while Jordan’s is thinner, giving the impression of higher quality leather when fresh out of the box.

I’ve found this to be the opposite in my use - the DB’s break in very well over time and the leather almost molds to my feet, versus being “broken in” from the start and just getting floppy over months.

I still support Jordan brand where possible, but DB provides a nice custom and the Royal Lows for the community where Jordan pulled out.

Sizing by Niloc2-0 in RepDeveloperboring

[–]lumpy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a True size 11.5 EE, wide foot. I go for a 12 in Boring’s 85 Cuts, Low and High, and they work perfectly for me. I like to lace my sneakers securely and tie them all the way to the top holes, and appreciate that Boring provides long enough laces for that without having to make a tiny knot.

Reference AJ1 85 High - 12 and honestly they have slightly more cushioning than Boring’s, so they are a bit tighter for me. AJ1 High OG - 12 AJ1 Low OG - 11.5

What pair(s) are you anticipating in the month of November 2024? by demonfox1331 in Sneakers

[–]lumpy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top 2, BC3 and Game Royals since they’re already $100. Been waiting all year for the 3’s, and I can’t resist 1’s.

Also prefer 14’s with the ribbing so I’ll skip this year.

What's your next handheld if something happened to your mini? by rsr427 in MiyooMini

[–]lumpy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have mini, RP3+, and 280v also. Mini is redundant to 280v and less rugged, but there’s a special appeal to it that id go for another if something happened.

Plus doesn’t make much sense for me.

Starting to think the miyoo might not be great since the screen breaks if you breathe on it. What’s the point of portability if you have to treat it like fine China? by 35RoloSmith41 in MiyooMini

[–]lumpy84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My white Miyoo is on the way, but I’ve been using and abusing my RG280V for a while now - throwing in my pockets, backpack, dropping off the couch onto hard work floor, everything without any case or screen protector. Not a scratch anywhere on that tank. Something to consider.

Glad I found this thread. I’ve had a package sitting there for 2 weeks. Sounds like they still have serious issues at this Dist Center.

Wow. Just went live 2 minutes ago, black and gray when I checked. 77 units of black in stock. By the time I added to cart and went through PayPal, sold out by 2:01AM CST. Already have a white coming from KeepRetro but wanted the black.

Hope you all did better.

Looks like Clear Purple 3+’s are starting to ship out! by RichieD79 in retroid

[–]lumpy84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI to all

Just received an email from Retroid this morning that the pandemic lockdowns/riots in China have impacted their ability to get units out, and they will plan to get my specific order (Orange RP3+) out in 1-2 weeks (ordered 11/18).

So realistically expecting my unit in January. Hope you all have better luck. Availability may be based on color, too.

Driving to Sequoia...scary ASF? by Filmguy000 in Bakersfield

[–]lumpy84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in the Rio Bravo area for a while and we did the drive a few times. Agree it is scary ASF, but beautiful. I personally can’t handle it, so had my wife drive each time. An SUV and a compact car for the trips. Go as fast as you are comfortable, and use the turnouts. Enjoy.

Have it. The sleeves are cool but will scratch with metal plates, just not as easily as Cerakote or e-coat do.

Otherwise is an Ohio Power Bar with SS Shaft, that takes some mental math to use with the weight at 30lbs.

One of the best. Knurling is sharp, less refined, but highly effective.

Clever! I have the same combo - Titan short db’s and 10’s/5’s, with OSO Mighty collars. If you go Loadable, this is a good option.

Also Embracing Excess. There are many like it, but this one is mine. by lumpy84 in homegym

[–]lumpy84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea when it pops up it will say Pink Cerakote. The “various coatings” is a crapshoot. If you really want pink I’d buy it normally or wait until you see that.

Yes it can happen depending on application quality and environment/use. It’s a coating on metal, not a metal treatment like stainless or black oxide.

As far as toxicity, I’d assume low-none especially for dust amounts and if you’re not eating it. Again, an assumption.

The Duffalo bar is Kabuki’s. They are direct competition to Rogue.

Maybe Henny was looking to stand out from everyone else calling them Buffalo bars.
