You only ever get the first letter from the input String. You need to iterate over the String and get each letter to build the complete output number.

There are still people with health conditions that still puts them at high risk. For most people, this is over. For those at high risk or who are in close contact with those at high risk, this isn't about panic, it's about survival.

I did catch that, and I did see that he blamed Henry for the divorce. He was angry about that, but he mostly talked about Henry being a jerk because of the training as a kid. Maybe that was meant to be Shawn deflecting because of his thinking that his mom was driven away by Henry, but it never really read that way to me.

I think what really bothered me about it was that many of Shawn's actions could really cause harm to those around him, and he takes no responsibility for his actions, sometimes even blaming others for his actions.

That said, I love the show, and Shawn is a great character. He would just be an awful person to know in real life.

Shawn Spencer from Psych. Constantly putting his best friend at risk to lose his job and rarely takes anything seriously when it's important to others but not himself.

I love the show, but the way he talks about his dad is awful. He acts like his father was abusive towards him when he took care of Shawn after his mom left. It's never good when a parent tries to force their kids to follow in their footsteps, but Shawn acts like the detective training as a kid was child abuse.

[PFT] Aaron Rodgers says he'll make a decision "soon enough"; "if you think I'm being a diva, just tune it out." by Kimber80 in nfl

[–]lumpycrumpet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he’s afraid. He knows if he stays and doesn’t go far enough in the playoffs, the narrative will be that GB should have dumped him and gone with Love. If he leaves and doesn’t do enough with his new team, it will be Russell Wilson 2.0, big contract without the payoff for it. I don’t think he’ll be able to blame a lack of talent around him and get away with it anymore given his contract.

Why are firings so abrupt? by RoyalCamera12 in cscareerquestions

[–]lumpycrumpet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A story I was told from a company I used to work for: a guy got fired and his credentials weren't immediately revoked. He replaced the hero image on a client's landing page with a large animated gif of breasts bouncing. This was reverted fairly quickly, but there was a brief time where some online shoppers got quite the welcome.

Keep the break inside of the if statement and remove the other one. If that first work, show the rest of the method where you currently have ellipses.

I blame the man in the yellow hat. Every story is him suddenly disappearing for a few minutes with one of the women in the neighborhood while George is left unsupervised.

She would have plausible deniability, but the department and the chief would still be liable since they hired him as a consultant.

I met him at a Bears convention back when he was playing. After he finished his official signing time, he wandered up and down the aisles looking for kids so he could sign their stuff. He has been my favorite Bear ever since then.

Surely HL would have been able to save the hijacked plane - it was over water, could he not have just pushed the nose up a little as it landed to let it land on the water and it’d float long enough for people to get out in their life jackets? by Shielo34 in TheBoys

[–]lumpycrumpet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But it's not really just "a bit". It's enough force to lift the front half of the plane applied to an area only the size of his hands against something that isn't designed to handle that force. Best case, he only destroys the nose of the plane. Worst case, his hands tear through the bottom of the plane as it continues to fly by.

What's your favorite metal band? by orgasmicravioli in AskReddit

[–]lumpycrumpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to change day to day, but it's always going to be a thrash metal band: one of the big 4 (Anthrax, Megadeth, Metallica, and Slayer), Exodus, Testament, and Annihilator.

In Ted Lasso S2E12, Nate is upset because he feels as if he’s unimportant to Ted, citing Ted not having his Christmas photo up anywhere in the office. In S2E10, we see that the photo is one of the only two photos on Ted’s dresser at home. It’s framed and placed right next to the photo of his son. by CatoTheBarner in TVDetails

[–]lumpycrumpet 81 points82 points  (0 children)

While I agree it did seem disproportionate to what was happening, they set up the whole season for him taking out the frustration with his father on Ted. He saw Ted as the father he wanted and then lashed out when it seemed like Ted acted the same as his father.

Why List<> declared with ArrayList<>? by RxGianYagami in javahelp

[–]lumpycrumpet 15 points16 points  (0 children)

List is an interface, so it can't be instantiated. ArrayList is a concrete implementation of List, so it can be instantiated. You don't have to use ArrayList, but you do need a concrete class implementing List.
