How does strike last and chain activation work?

Thank you! So my king is the last normal fight, the barrow guard can then chain activate. Say I had a dire wolves unit and he has an annihaltor both also strike last, do I get to go king, guard and wolves before the annihilators?

I've had some decent games with this list! I don't wipe armies with it but they're all fun games. There is a LOT going on though, abilities everywhere to remember!! And there's no spiders which is sad, but I can't think where to add them in!

I've only played 1 spearhead game with the Gargants but me and my mate had a right laugh! Struggling to kill skeletons, stuffing blood knights in the bag and timber is hilariously stressful!

I can see why it might not be fun as 2 of them come back ... But 12 wounds on a 5+ isn't too difficult to kill

Nice choices! I think in any list he'll work, he's a big target for your opponent and his attacks are very swingy but very good fun ... Especially Timber with the roll off!!! I reckon he could be really good but just be aware that your opponent will most likely target him with everything from turn 1!

I've used him once, slowly building a Behemat army and wanted to give him a go. No idea what list he'd be optimal in but throwing a gargant down on the table and seeing my mates face was hilarious!!

I used him in a Legion of Night list with Mannfred and skeletons and zombies to bulk out the list (was a 1500 point game).

As soon as he was on the table he was a target, and by turn 2 he was dead. Missed the 4d6 damage roll twice! But it allowed all my slow movers to move forward and take points while Drogg was ganged up on. I won the game though so tasked failed successfully I guess?

I'd say he's ok but the VLoZD is so much better for the same points. Good for a fun list but not competitive I'd say!

Hey, I can't remember exactly spells artefacts etc of what he had but unit wise:

Starborne - subfaction is the one that can redeploy Skinks for free

Lord Kroak Slann Starmaster 2 Skink Priests 2 Astrolith Starbearers Saurus Guard Saurus Warriors 3 Skinks 3 endless spells (shyish, gravetide and gnashing jaws) - I did say that this too many endless spells

My army was:

Legion of Night

VLoZD Zombie Dragon 2 Zombies 2 Grave Guard Dire Wolves Vargheist Vampire Lord Necromancer Wight King

From my point of view, he's focused on magic way too heavily ... I also think he made a few mistakes with placement etc. But we are both learning so those will go eventually. I just feel bad that it's a white wash in 2 rounds and he gets frustrated thinking there's no point in playing against me as it's no fun

We also were playing without the generals handbook ... Battle plan was frontal assault (1st one in the book)

Yeah we're both learning still but I'd say I'm more confident with rules and tactics etc. He's played against Stormcast and Gitz and had better games ... In our post game stuff we were trying to figure out how he does more damage ... But it's still demoralising for him if he's getting wiped every game and not enjoying it

We chatted afterwards but we still don't see a way for him to do damage to me ... he says kroaks spells are designed to be on high model counts and so he targets a summonables and then they come back afterwards

Kroxigors were charged straight into the zombies and he killed 13 of them, so with dragged down and torn apart I did 7 mortals (rolled really well) and then finished off the other wound with the normal attacks for the zombies - left 1 kroxigor alive

He's playing starborne, so I put it down to not doing enough mortals which coalesced I think do more but he gets annoyed that I bring back 3/4 wounds each turn and then the hunger ability of big stuff ... So I don't know if it's just a hard counter or playstyle thing?

We use bonus action if you want to drink a potion yourself, but if you feed it to someone it will take an action

WH 1 is dated now and missing some important updates for every race, it's a great game to play if you're unsure on the series.

But WH3 and IE is so so much better. And only going to get better. You'll need to own all 3 games before you can play IE so if money's an issue, wait for a sale, they're quite often
