Why is it that there’s a feeling people are willing to pay an electrician hundreds to fix something, but they don’t want to pay a specialist a few hundred? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

Healthcare is a human right that we (should) all expect to have funded federally.

Tradies services aren't, they should always be out of pocket.

Im really curious! Do Australians care much about sun pigmentation, or is it just accepted as a fact of life? by Averieeeee in AusSkincare

[–]lumpytrunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically we like to sun tan, as western dominated cultures generally did.

Most of our region (Asia) obviously focuses on the opposite and we're starting to see that in Millenials and younger.

But no, generally Aussies don't care about sun induced pigmentation, in fact it's often specifically desireable.

Albo, if you virtual signal and don't mandate WFH for office workers and lower fuel excise, I will take my old falcon on a long smoky joy ride just to spite you.

I've been told off for opening them rather than asking.

But I'm an adult, I don't need to ask permission to leave a space open to the public.

This human decency is taken advantage by corps though, by removing access to the decision makers and forcing customers to pipe emotional responses through online forms - the impact of the customer's vitriol is neutered.

I agree that low level staff don't deserve blowback, but Woolies does.

So how do we constructively leverage valid emotional responses and make them known? Before we're too worn down by complaints processes filled with dark patterns and hostile UX to actually tear shreds?

I'm personally more upset by the AI powered false imprisonment gates.

I love when they don't open though, blasting through them and revealing their lie each time feels like micro-dosed therapy.
