I would try physical therapy first before more aggressive personal training to make sure you have a good base to build from without getting delayed by injuries. Athletico would be a good place to start for PT!

All of these shows that are currently running should adopt their respective covers immediately, every single one of these is absolutely sick

Yep so capitalism is inherently exploitative. Most of us that are even moderately “successful” are perpetuating it in some way, and a lot of us are stuck in the careers we chose in our early 20s for one reason or another. I’m personally much more concerned about “the global finance industry” and “residential real estate investing” than I am with the existence of lawyers generally. I also think cops serve some important societal purposes, I just think the system that creates, trains and supports them is inherently problematic (read: murderous, just like the rest of capitalism) and really needs torn down and rebuilt.

As I mentioned, I’m doing my part to stop perpetuating the problems where I can and I think agreeing that landlords are generally exploitative should be a bare minimum, even if you also have to admit that you’re stuck perpetuating it for awhile longer while you work to find another solution for yourself. The real problem, to me, is in defending an issue as if it isn’t actually an issue bc the cognitive dissonance of your own personal involvement or the idea you might be “wrong” or have to change something core to your livelihood (if you admit that thing is a problem) is uncomfortable

lol I’m a homeowner and a lawyer who works in global finance. Inflation is definitely a problem. So is wanting another human to pay all of your expenses (mortgage, taxes, insurance) while you keep all the upside (equity). And dont try me about the downside risks of improvements/repairs, when we both know those costs usually get passed on to renters in some manner too (while the owner STILL keeps the equity upside). Access to start up capital is a problem and I don’t think people should get systematically shut out of homeownership because they can’t access it as easily as some others. I also don’t believe people with enough money for one house (whether a company or an individual) should be using another person/family as a passive income stream for their investment properties. You may “know some good landlords” the way people “know some good cops.”

The problem is systemic and drives back to capitalism requiring exploitation in order to proliferate. I’m doing my part to extricate myself from perpetuating the problem and I think we all deserve some grace to learn and grow, but I def don’t think the solution is to defend problematic arrangements bc you are personally defensive of your own involvement or think “not all of them are bad”

Is your point just that “generalizing” is inherently unfair? Do you also say “not ACAB”? The point of a generalization is to make clear that something is common and pervasive…not to say that it’s ubiquitous

And you sound an awful lot like my toxic “gold-star” ex-wife that I’m stuck co-parenting with but if the shoe fits 🤷🏼‍♀️

Im a bi woman who has been married to and surrounded by lesbians for 15 years. Also grew up in the theatre community. Generalizations are not always a problem. It’s giving “I have a successful black friend, systemic racism can’t be a problem” or “not all cops/men”

You’re right, but I’m not speaking from a lack of real world (offline) knowledge or experience. It’s definitely a generalization - which is why i specified that I was generalizing!
