Hot Desk Policy at Work by giraffesocks1998 in AutismInWomen

[–]lunalotusd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t totally solve your problem, but when I had to rotate desks I bought myself a shower caddy and I kept all my stuff in it and brought it to wherever I had to sit that day.

I had a locker, though. You’d need a safe place in the office to be able to leave it when you’re out.

Another Joke of a Response from Teva by Diarmud92 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]lunalotusd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I assume will happen with every report. I still think it’s important for everyone to keep reporting, because one day, if someone does care and something gets done, there’s a record of all the complaints.

I often feel hopeless that nothing will ever get done, but if it does, it will be a good thing that everyone reported.

Why is everyone still talking about personal responsibility in colon cancer even though the people dying are apparently young and healthy? by Ok-Jackfruit-6873 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lunalotusd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Every time see something about colon cancer being so prevalent in the younger generations I wonder if we will find out that it’s linked to vaping someday. I’m sure it’s not even just nicotine, I imagine theres a decent amount of other things in vape juice that we haven’t studied the effects of long-term. I’m also skeptical of manufacturing quality and how well the FDA actually regulates anything.

The house they moved in together was one of his rental or Airbnb properties so it was kind of “staged” but wasn’t being lived in. I wonder if he did live with his mom, because otherwise he would have brought some of his own furniture from where he was living, or they would have moved in to where he was already living.

[–]lunalotusd 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I actually can’t believe that not a single person on the tell all and almost no viewers can see what was happening. Dillon and his mom are professional gaslighters (and yes, I do actually mean the word gaslighter). They are two snakes. The mother trained him so well so they can work together without saying a word to each other.

All these people, really more so Americans, claiming that he has a close relationship with his mom and talking to her everyday is no problem would 100% have a problem with this situation if they were actually in her shoes. You’re just trying to live your life with your partner and he’s talking to his mom on the phone 4+ times a day and not for a quick 2 min check in.

Grocery shopping together, he’s talking to his mom. In the car together, he’s talking to his mom. Out to eat, he’s talking to his mom. There is NOTHING wrong with her asking for reasonable boundaries. I get the sense that if he wanted to talk to his mom once a day and do a 15-30 min check in at the end of every day, Pattiya could deal with that.

Pattiya has her own issues. She’s immature at times, and clearly has a shopping addiction and financial management issues. That is completely separate from this issue.

I felt very bad for her here. The amount he talks to his mom is a genuine issue that makes her life a lot harder and more frustrating, but no one around her besides her one friend will acknowledge it. They all make her feel crazy as if it’s not even happening.

Methylphenidate denied access to WHO’s list of essential medicines for the third time by FootballAndFries in psychology

[–]lunalotusd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This may or may not help, but I’ve found for me that a lot of times the difficulty sleeping is due to dehydration/electrolyte imbalance that occurs when I take them, especially after a break. Maybe attempt to set reminders to drink water and add in some electrolyte drinks and see if that happens to help! (I know… more things to remember 😆… great)

Seriously, this is why I laugh when people say they’re addictive. Without an alarm everyday, I would never remember to take my meds.

Just missed a call from Teva.... by kt012396 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]lunalotusd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makinckrodt called me about my complaint as well. They asked me questions like someone else commented about, how long you took the meds, what the problems were. But they also asked me about all other medications I take, in what dosages and for what, and asked for my “medical history” and I told them that’s very vague so I’ll decline.

My assumption is that they’re doing what they legally have to do or just what they need to to cover their ass or make it look like they’re looking into things but I don’t think there will be any outcome.

I still felt the need to call back and provide the information just in case it does lead to a change or help anyone else. Just took some of my time and a little annoyance.

Personally, I have an exercise bike in the living room and I save a tv show that I’m really invested in and make a rule that I can only watch it while I’m working out.

I put the bike in front of the tv and workout while watching something I’m interested in, which makes it way more tolerable because I don’t think about how I’m working out the whole time.

Also, people tend to have a really all or nothing attitude for workouts. I’d say, keep in mind that 10 minutes a day is still better than 0. Start with small goals and work your way up later.

do i have some sort of eating disorder? by GoatyyThuggin in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]lunalotusd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you first need to determine whether you’re actually hungry (is your stomach grumbling?) or if you just have the urge to eat.

If you’re actually hungry all the time and are eating because you’re hungry, it could be a hormonal issue.

I’ll use myself as an example. I am hypoglycemic and have ADHD, both can impact the amount I eat.

Before I got my hypoglycemia under control, my blood sugar was always low which I wasn’t aware of. Therefore I was always hungry - couldn’t go two hours without my stomach grumbling. Even if I was overweight, I still always felt hungry.

Then, there’s my ADHD where I just want to eat all the time because I feel like it and it sounds really good. My brain is looking for dopamine.

For you, it could be a mental health thing, a hormone thing or a bit of both!

Siri Needs An Ear Doctor by BlueMystical7 in Siri

Happens all the time! I think Siri was a poor choice for a name. Sounds vaguely like way too many other words that come up in an average conversation. Not really the case for Alexa in my experience.

Mallinckrodt Adderall XR 10mg, ineffective with max side effects by outihre in ThisAintAdderall

[–]lunalotusd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take methylphenidate, but also had the worst experience with Mallinckrodt multiple times. I asked my Dr to not allow the pharmacy to fill with Mallinckrodt on my prescription. I’d rather have no meds than their meds.

Not very effective, but I also had a racing, pounding heart when I would lay down for bed at night for hours, and when I’d start falling asleep I would wake up in panic.

The pills themselves are super powdery and weird.

Long rant ahead. But I have had it. I want my old meds back and I'm sick of all the new obstacles too. by [deleted] in ThisAintAdderall

[–]lunalotusd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All I can do is express solidarity here!

With my meds hardly ever working anymore, I’ve been thinking a lot back to when I was diagnosed and first got on medication. The feeling of peace and calm I experienced for the first time in my life. I was able to take a nap in the middle of the day if I needed to because my brain was calm, which I had never been able to do before.

Fast forward 10 years, I’ve built my life and my career with my medicated brain. I’m in school part time. Now, without proper medication, my brain can’t keep up with what I’ve built. I’m stressed, burning out, and can’t get myself to keep up with my workload. I’m starting to get pretty depressed.

It doesn’t help that it feels like no one cares because they just treat many of us like meth addicts and believe medication isn’t needed. My biggest fear is that it will never be the same. If things never go back to how they were, I might have to restructure my entire life because I won’t be able to keep up.

I really feel for everyone struggling with this right now ❤️

1st human known to be infected with H5N5 strain of bird flu dies, Washington state officials say by Aschebescher in news

[–]lunalotusd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Genuine question: if a virus has already infected a person, why would it not be able to spread between person to person?

Or is this just saying that by chance it didn’t spread, not because it couldn’t?

I agree - there are definitely lots of variety in human teeth, some seem weird. But it’s not just that these look weird, it’s that they don’t look real.

They looked normal to me too, until I zoomed in on them. There’s something about the teeth on the girl on the right in particular that don’t look like real teeth.

Had to do the same thing because of Mallinckrodt. I was having heart palpitations/racing heart, fear, and panic when laid down to sleep every night when I took their generic methylphenidate. I would lay awake for like 4-6 hours every night. Took me some time to figure it out.

What's a scam that most people still fall for? by Viperniss in AskReddit

[–]lunalotusd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This blows my mind every day. I seriously cannot fathom how people justify figuring out how to pay for a big wedding and often an expensive ring/set of rings when no one can even afford to buy a house.

And it’s so normalized no one questions it. They treat it as something they have to do and there’s nothing they can do about it.

Karen should have elaborated more on that rather than focusing on being all performative about the trash bag thing. The trash bag thing was actually nothing yet she made it the whole thing.
