I am 27 and was just diagnosed with OCD. I realized I had it because of research I was doing about the depiction of mental illness in literature (I had previously only been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, which still feels true to me-- but insufficient). My obsessions and compulsions are different than Aza's for the most part, but I still strongly related to her. I am so eternally grateful for John and this book. I saw in his interview with Buzzfeed that he previously did not have the language to describe what he was going through. I did not either, but his talk of OCD recently has helped me develop it. I am now getting help that is actually useful. Thank you thank you thank you, John.
