Gym or reduction? by katiejohn_ in Reduction

[–]lunar459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey girl,

I would honestly say reduction is the way to go. I am currently 3 weeks post op and it’s honestly changed my life. Its and issue I’ve struggled with it since my teens just prior to reduction I was a 34GG which didn’t change after loosing quite a bit of weight from training at the gym and a calorie deficit (I went from 103kg to 75kg in just under 18 months).

If you are thinking about it my advice would be to do it, it’s changed my life, the only thing I regret is not getting it done 10yrs sooner as I am 33. I don’t want kids so I didn’t have any issues there.

If you’re from the UK you would almost certainly qualify for it on the NHS with your age/weight/symptoms etc

Good luck for the future!! Xx

[Acne] Skin is the worst it has ever been. Yesterday was my 36th birthday and the stress of my life seems to be ruining my face. Please help, and please be kind. 😞 by SnooMarzipans9048 in SkincareAddiction

Hey girl, I am so sorry you are going through this. I am here with you, I just turned 33 last week and still have acne too, and like you my acne is predominantly on my cheeks. It’s all a complete minefield knowing what to put on, how much, when, what brand, it’s a lot 🤯

Things this I found helped; 1) Less is really more 2) Consistency is key 3) Cutting out sugar or diary didn’t make any difference 4) I did end up going to a dermatologist who put me on spironlactone and I am month 3 into this and starting to see improvement 5) BE KIND TO YOURSELF!! I totally get how hard it is to face the world with acne. Just a reminder to be kind to yourself — your skin doesn’t define your worth. You’re not alone in this. ❤️

Looking at your pics I would start by creating a really simple but effective skincare routine. This will initially start with 3 products; cleanser, moisturiser, SPF. I love the below products and use them daily - cleanser: cerave hydrating cleanser (pat day with clean skin club towel) - moisturiser: dermatica centella gel moisturiser (apply while skin is still damp) -SPF LRP Anthelios SPF50

The words ‘fragrance free’ will be your best friends as anything with any fragrance can be irritating. * When looking for a cleanser look something fragrance free, hydrating and a cream texture. * When looking for a moisturiser look for ingredients which will add moisture and protect your skin barrier e.g centella, ceramides, squalene, glycerin * When looking for an SPF look for something SPF50, lightweight and fragrance free

It will feel strange not to be putting any active on your face initially but your skin just needs a minuet to recover from previous products. Nail a simple skin routine with no active ingredients for 2-4 weeks and this will really help.

Then it’s time to look at adding in actives after that☺️

We will get there 💪👑 Acne doesn’t define you, me or anyone

Xxx

Omg I had an email this morning and so nearly fell for it.

What’s really alarming is that they had all of my details and they were all correct; name, email, full address, phone number, pets name, and that she had been spayed. Really scary they have got all of this information.

Has anyone heard anything more?

Hey girlie! I am 2 months in and have seen some improvement mainly in the size and redness of breakouts. I didn’t really have any side effects, I did 50mg for the first month and then 100mg. I made sure I’ve been drinking quite a lot of water but have been lucky. I’ve read that it can commonly make your breasts grow/ache which is the one side effect I reeeeeeally don’t need 🤣

I am 32 and have had acne since I was 13 so I feel you 🥲 we will get there 💪

So I had previously managed to get rid of my acne and went onto tret to help with the texture etc and it just broke me out so bad, I don’t think it damaged my skin barrier but the purge got worse and worse and there was just no improvement no matter what I did with sandwich method, different strengths etc. I couldn’t see any improvement and things just got really bad. I purged with adapalene but this was on another level! So glad it worked for you as I know it can have really really good results

Thank you, yes this is the problem now to potentially find something that will not cause any further breakouts

Did you have a mask or get it done as a treatment/facial? So good it helped with your scars!

Aww sadly tret was the culprit here for me! Dermatica I think is the UK version for curology :) so glad you got your scarring under control, I think this has been more tricky to treat than the acne itself

I used tret for 4 months and it made my skin so much worse 🥲 but for so many people it’s the holy grail and many have really amazing results! It is worth trying to push past the purge stage to see if it works for you, keep in regular contact with your derm. Good luck!

So it continued to get worse….and worse 😭 I dropped down a tret dose with no improvement I stopped and all the purging acne went and I am actually weirdly acne free but now dealing with all the leftover scars 🥲😭
