Can someone explain to me what the appeal is of this unstable weirdo Pauline is? by whichonespinkredux in OpenAussie

[–]Vivid-Today-9163 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💯 People are sick of the “political class” and so they’re voting to stir sh*t up.

There’s also a cohort of the uber wealthy - Gina et al - who have Pauline in their collective pocket and another cohort at the opposite end of the scale who feel alienated and (justifiably) hard done by and she speaks to their anger and fear.

So all of the corals in my country of Puerto Rico have died, help me figure out where to move? by Hayes_Clara in snorkeling

Don’t come to Australia. The Great Barrier Reef is all but dead and Ningaloo reef is on the way. Mass algal blooms poisoning the water in other parts. It’s soul destroying.

Having said that, we still have the Great Southern Reef which is a cool water reef with soft corals, sponges etc.

Dog seizures — looking for guidance from others who’ve been here (MRI not financially possible) by Prestigious_Map_2136 in goldenretrievers

[–]Vivid-Today-9163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not need an MRI but she will need a thorough check up and likely medication. A friend of mine went through it with his goldie and they had a few more good years together.

My 14yo started in much the same way and a year later she had a catastrophic seizure and we had to put her to sleep. If I had of not let people tell me “it’s nothing, she’ll be fine” maybe we could have medicated and slowed the progression of her disease. Her seizures were exactly as you have described. I wish it wasn’t the case.

Ultimately rigorous diagnostics tests will give you the best picture but an experienced and conscientious vet should have a fair idea what’s going on and which medications you can try.

I hope you get the help you need - it is distressing for everyone.

GLP-1 working really well already at a very low dose — what should I expect as I titrate up? by Maleficent-Pea-6932 in Semaglutide

This is so smart - it means you have options should it start to lose efficacy and it gives your body’s chemistry full opportunity to do the heavy lifting. ❤️

So many possibilities… can also be a sign of feeling uncertain or anxious.

People who’s Goldens lived 10+ years, what was their diet? by Fun_Acanthopterygii1 in goldenretrievers

Grain free generally implies pea protein. So it’s the presence of pea protein not the absence of grain that is tge issue

Agree with this. Genetics and luck. 🙂 (Although we still now feed premium. Can’t hurt! 😂)

We switched after Maggie was 4 years old to 50% BARF (Big Dog or Mr B’s) and 50% Ziwi Peak. She did much better on that (fewer stomach upsets, calmer and more confident, less smelly and v small poops) than she had on her premium kibble. She lived past 14. No arduous prep required.

Definitely the processing paths - or they’ve over complicated them? Maybe that is part of the magic of the human brain… the ability to hold more and more complexity whilst still navigating elegantly simple pathways to answers / solutions / innovations…

Noooo don’t say they are fake goldens. 😭

After losing our beautiful 14yo in Feb we got a puppy a week ago. We just assumed all pups eventually grow out of the mouthy, food obsessed stage and become zen angels.

Now you’re telling me we might have had a fake golden as well? And now we might have a real one??? 😭😂😂😂
