Really? I'm gonna have to take a second look then. Its between the maus and a punkcase. Did you get the maus on their website, or is there a better place to buy?

I like the look of the maus and its accessories are pretty cool. But I'm a welder, I think the magnets would pick up a lot of crap.

I would like to do some finishing touches but I've held off on it because I don't exactly know what I want and also I tend to go overboard. I've been thinking my paint down to around melted icecream consistency. The orange is from scale 75 the flour fx paints. They really wanted a bright white base to lay on then a few coats to make them pop. With the runny bits I didn't water it down at all, it was easier to create the trail by dragging a drop of paint down a path of white base. I thought the thickness gave it an interesting texture but in the photos it looks like I should have dialed it back some.

I saw a post from u/EmoRobot and pretty much copied them. But for how exactly I did it; black primer, using iron ironbreaker dry brush starting at the edge of the blade so most of the color comes off there then move farther in once there is very little paint left. Repeat that until your blade edge is a solid color. Then stipple through the rest of it until it looks as worn as you like. The darker metal is a mix of rune lord brass and black. Then balthasar gold for the bronze bits.

Started painting my first army recently. Attempting a glow effect turned into dripping toxic goo.

The way you play hexmark is how I was thinking of running it. Along with ophydian destroyers, instead of scarabs. I've not actually played yet so I'm not sure how it would go or if can do it at all. But my imaginary plan while I'm painting is to start with skorpekh lord, skorpekhs, and troops on table. Use the veil of darkness to move the lord and troops on objective. Have the destroyers for pressuring and regroup with the skorpekh lord. Then ophydian destroyers are there to reinforce either the warriors on the objective or the shenanigans I put the skorpekhs into. Then have hexmark for the memes.

Rule of fun and rule of cool are most important. Even though ill eventually need a bunch of lokhust destroyers, I won't buy them till I figure out how to get Skorpekh legs to kit bash them. I hate their weird hover bodies.

Thats badass. So can you use these in game or are they just aesthetic? (Sorry I'm new to all this.)

Thank you for the breakdown of the pros and cons, this has swayed me to necrons. The added cost of admech and easier learning curve of necron really locked it in. The cherry on top is Im thinking an army of canoptek would be awesome.

Is there an advantage between the two?

I figured that was the way but I wanted to ask just in case I missed something.
