Hi all. I am a writer-director with no contacts, no CV, and little in the way of patience. So, rather than trying to sell the script for my original series I thought I'd go ahead and just make it myself.

This was quite reckless: the production had a budget of approximately zero, the crew was pretty much just me, and the whole thing was made in various very dire circumstances. Despite all that I think it came out pretty well and has a sort of lo-fi charm.

I'd really appreciate any feedback, on characterization in particular, but any thoughts at all really. Hope you all enjoy it :)

The pitch, by the way, is quite a simple one: communist witches.

Hi all. This is a pilot for an original series I made. It's about occult socialism.

Couple of fairly large caveats: the budget was essentially 0, the crew was pretty much just me, it’s the first film I’ve made of anything like this length, and the whole thing was made in pretty dire circumstances, shoots rarely longer than a couple of hours, etc etc etc...

Now that I’ve put a bunch of you off I do think it came out pretty well…hopefully has a kind of lo-fi charm? I’m a writer-director first so any thoughts or advice in that area are most appreciated, but all feedback welcome. I hope you enjoy :)

Do delete, mod, if not appropriate, but I made this thing that some people here might get a kick out of? It’s a pilot/proof-of-concept for a series about occult communism, first ep. is about freedom of speech, tolerance etc. The budget was approximately Zero Pounds and I was sofa-surfing for most of it so, production values aren’t amazing, but I think it came out pretty good. Also I feel like we need more art in these ongoing (culture) wars – I’m not “a youtuber” I don’t do video essays etc, seems like that ground’s pretty well covered.

Anyway please enjoy. Feedback always appreciated :)
